I liked the animation on the Cell cover, but I still think they could pull off something much better.

All three seem really... unoriginal.

That picture of Trunks won't be the final cover; it's more like a place holder until the art is done. That's more like an example of what it will be like, only it will be much more detailed.

Not necessarily a bad concept, for once, but poorly executed. Hopefully the final will look better. I'm sure the Japanese cover will shit all over it anyway.

It doesn't even look like the hand matches the rest of him. For one, it's not shaded at all, and I don't even know if it's using the same skintone.
Who even holds their sword like that? When you look at how the rest of his body is, the hand being posed like that is just awkward.

Jebus. Who the heck makes these things?? :?
He's holding it like that, 'cause in the larger version of that pic you can see Kid Goku, Goku and SSJ4 Goku reflected in his sword.
Personaly, i love the box art.
No no, I don't mean how the sword is positioned like that, I meant how his hand (and arm, I guess) is posed. I mean, try doing that exact pose in the mirror, the whole thing, not just the arm and hand; it's just totally unnatural.

If he was more hunched over, and so that his hand wasn't bent at a 90 degree angle to do that pose, I wouldn't have mentioned it.

I refer you to this link here... http://www.dbzonps2.com/forums/index.ph ... opic=26037

Now that is a nice cover. Lets hope we get something like this for the overseas release.

In the Netherlands we got the Japanese cover of "Sparking!", so I'm hoping we get the Japanese version of "Sparking Neo!" as well :P

Now that is a nice cover. I hope this or something very close to it will be the final box art. One thing I find with the differences between the Japanese and American covers is that the American ones tend to be more action-oriented. Take Super DBZ for example. American cover: Vegeta blasting at Goku on a dark background; Japanese cover: all the of immediately selectable characters, brightly coloured and in cool poses, with an orange backdrop of Shen Long. See the difference?

Man, am I glad that Europe got the rights for the Japanese covers! Sparking!, Advanced Adventure, Super DBZ... you get the idea.

And before that, the custom European covers were cool, too. :P :)

Have you ever even watched the show? 99.9% of the motions and positions they do in the series are completely and utterly unnatural and physically impossible. Vegeta's BBA pose, for example. His hand is at a perfect 90' angle.

And, I doubt that's the final version of the cover. Those look like the concept covers. And personally, I think the Trunks one is cool. Even if that is the way the final version will look. I think a lot of you just aren't happy unless you're complaining about something. :?

Isn't that clip just a compilation of Sparking! NEO preview clips from a while ago? The first part was during a demonstration with Ryo Mito at Gamespot. The idea about Goku transforming into SSJ4 was still intact at that time. But that was a while ago. Now, all screenshots indicate SSJ4 Goku as separate a character.

Edit: Finally! Gohan gets to be in the cover with everybody else (it looks like all of the Z-Fighters)! And shockingly, not a single villain in the cover. (Except maybe Piccolo and Vegeta.)

Now that is a very nice cover. I love that Tien and Yamcha get to be on it. Trunks should be a little high up though, can barely notice him.

It's really colourful as well, even moreso than Super DBZ.

The only quibble I have with it is that the background is kinda plain. :o

They should have used older Gohan and thrown in Goten and chibi Trunks, too.

This game should be interesting ... 130 character/tranformations, I like the sound of that.

Japanese cover ftw. Seriously, it seems like every other game relating to the DBZ fighting games that Atari brings up has an awful cover since Budokai 3.

Budokai 3 - Waaaay too plain.

"Budokai Tenkaichi" - Fairly decent.

Shin Budokai - Craptastic. Really badly drawn face of someone done with Flash and Goku drawn out of proportion (looks like Broli's chest with Goku's head and arms).

Super Dragon Ball Z - Many say it sucks, but I think it looks neat. The art and layout is fine, though the only irritating thing is the usual focus on just Goku and Vegeta (LOL SUPR SAYANZ!!)

"Budokai Tenkaichi 2" - Blech. I certainly hope this is only a temp job. Last thing we need is mixed artwork. DO NOT WANT Beckett/FUNimation drawn Trunks mixed with Toriyama's kid Goku. Hell, they're even using the usual art of Goku from movie 6 and a basic Super Saiyan 4 image.

I really like the japanese Sparking 2 cover, but why use everyone's Cell Saga forms? Why not the ones from the Buu episodes?

Cause then Yamcha wouldn't be on the cover due to him qutting his training, Kuririn would have toned down his training after settling down and Tenshinhan would have been covered in obscurity due to only appearing when Boo was about to kill Gohan. :P

The Cell Saga forms are pretty much at a point where everyone at least did *something*, even if they weren't anything compared to the Super Saiyans.

I'd take the Big Bang Attack over that sword holidng pose any day. It's still more natural than that cover; it's like when someone goes, "Talk to the hand", you know? :P
The PERFECT 90 degree angle is still awkward in either pose, but I think the Big Bang Attack as a whole is still much more natural than that cover.

Hey, I'm not saying I'm judging the game at all on the cover, or that the cover will detract from my enjoyment of the game, or deter me from buying it. Like some people who think of picking up a Japanese version because the english version of whatever game only hass dub voices.
Heck, I've seen some people (not here) avoid buying a game because it's the GREATEST HITS version, with the "ugly red label".

The topic had shifted to talking about the cover; so I threw my opinion in. And I don't like it, so my opinion isn't going to be positive. :?
