Vegeta's Mustache

Post by samuraix123 » Sat Feb 22, 2014 12:23 am

Hey guys! I'm not too big of fan of GT but it does have it's funny moments. Did anyone else get a kick out Vegeta walking around the house showing his mustache off and Bra's like ''That thing has got to go! it makes you look like a dork'' or something like that. seeing Vegeta's reaction is priceless  What do you guys think? Does Vegeta's tash go or stay? :P

Well, my mom thought he looked 'hot' with the stache...so...take that as you will. :P

I don't think he looked very good with it (though I do wish he'd gone Super Saiyan at least once before losing it), but I did get a kick out of the jokes around it and why he had to get rid of it. I enjoyed it a lot.

I would've like a running gag where he goes through various styles of facial hair (each increasingly more absurd-looking on him than the last) before inevitably going back to clean shaven.
On hiatus.

Mustache Vegeta being an alternate costume in a game is way overdue.

When he goes SSJ3(I think there's a game that has that as a what-if? scenario), his mustache grows to his feet.

I always felt he grew his mustache as homage to his father.

I really liked Vegeta with the mustache, and we must see him with it as a SS/3/4.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Moustaches were all the rage in the 80's and 90's so I think it should of stayed just for the sole fact that my 90's nostalgia of seeing Vegeta with a moustache would go off like crazy

He has a bit of Tom Selleck going on with the 'tache, which I find amusing.

Not as amusing as I find the fact that a lot of fans genuinely list it as a primary reason why GT sucks, though.

Wait why? :P I thought that it was funny? Do fans not like the comedic aspect of Dragonball? lol

It was very jarring to witness the mustache at first. I was blown away by it's shape, form, and prominence but I guess it was alright. I agree that it had to go though, it just had to!

People from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's like to have a moustache as it makes them feel look stylish or just because they've always had it and can't live without it. There's men out there with some really cool moustaches but I detest facial due to being uncomfortable so it wouldn't suit me).

That probably comes from the same type of fans who think of Dragon Ball only as DBZ fighting/action-packed and nothing else.

Vegeta's mustache is the true source of his power. It's the strongest character in the series.

For real, though, I love how frumpy all of Toriyama's GT designs are. While it's an amusing subplot either way, I'd have been fine with him keeping it for a bit longer.

Right BEFORE he shaved it. The stache plus his new haircut looked awesome. It's when Vegeta had that playboy hair cut with the stache that I hated.

I'm on of the few people that actually like his character model in GT. I like his Yamucha/Gohan hair. Though never a fan of the mustache... And wasn't so into his hair looking like it's just been chopped off and he never did anything else with it. Maybe he just got a haircut when we first see him.

I wouldn't want him to keep the mustache, but I enjoyed it for the scenes he had it, and the humor that went with it. I really liked Vegeta's design in GT.
