What Color is Super Saiyan 4 Goku's 10x/Jubei Kamehameha?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I have seen it being red sometimes and other times blue.

Is this a mistake on Toei's part?

Yes, there's both blue and red versions of it. Here's something that talks about it since many debate if the blue one was the original one(Yes, it was). It's a GT attack, thus it must be consistent with the rest of GT by being inconsistent. :P

"Jubei".... hee hee, that's Goku's word for it :)

....Well, okay, so his word for it is actually "jubee", but sounds the same :)
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Actually, it'd be "juubee", or "jûbê". [/nitpicking] Yeah though, the normal Japanese way to say it would be "juubai", but it changes with Goku's accent. Just like he says "sugee" instead of "sugoi" (meaning incredible, amazing, awesome, etc.).

Anyway, I've never seen all of GT, but that's interesting that's there's two versions. Man, Toei even manages to contradict themselves, without needing a manga to contradict themselves for them. Personally though, I think the red one is much cooler (though that probably has something to do with me seeing the red one first in Budokai 3 :P).

Man, that move took down, what, like a whole life bar. Isn't that more than some specials!*My friend always gets me in the face with it, it hurts...*

But isn't the Blue one in the theme song?

Well, I think the red version is cooler. We've seen big, honkin', sky-filling Kamehamehas before. A change in appearance, even as simple as being a different color, is a welcome change, if you ask me.

Go ahead. Ask me.

I dare you.

Well , i prefer the red one myself . Since the Juubai Kamehameha is supposed to be the ultimate version of the Kamehameha, i think it should be a different color than the normal blue version.

I think it's funny how FUNimation tried so desperately at even changing it to be some kind of attack that does delayed damage. e_e;

Anywho, the only disagreement I have is with the ending of the video. The script called for Goku to say Times 10 Kamehame-Ha. It was the flub in animation studios, especially since both clips involved two different groups.

For the sake of completeness and convenience, I have compiled a colour comparison of all the places in which SSJ4 Goku has appeared:

Final Bout: Blue

Transformation: Blue

Budokai 3: Red

Sparking!: Blue

Sparking! NEO: I'll update when it comes out, but it'll probably be blue.

GT: Isn't that the point of this thread?

So there you have it. Most of the video games say blue. The first time it was animated, it was blue; so I say blue.

I say, that is, remember.

Well, i only remember the attack being Blue the first time it was used in the Bebi saga. All other times it was used in GT, it was Red.

Do you think it's a welcome change, SSj Kaboom?

Personally, (boreing answer) I think the red one is cooler.

(cool answer) I nearly s##t myself when I saw the red one fired! Then I saw the blue one and thought, 'Aw, the red one was only special!' (Because I always go red first, then blue)
Even I became a loser when I made one of these...

Kinda reminds me of Street Fighter II. Remember how the red Hadoken was a graphical glitch that would happen randomly? Then people loved it so much that they made it it's own move, slower but stronger than the standard blue (and often setting the opponent aflame).
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

On the contrary, I love Son Goku's voice in Japanese. But I guess that's because I admire & respect much of his seiyuu's rich history & dedication to her roles behind the anime scene. Same goes for the other seiyuus in Dragon Ball as well.
