I've been to few comic book stores but those guys kinda creeped me out so I tend to just buy all entertainment online, besides it's easier and cheaper. Search for "Dragon Ball" on Amazon/eBay and there ya go!

Shops aren't supposed to be able to sell the products before their release date. If the release date is tomorrow, then, technically they aren't allowed to sell and ship the products before that date. I know that a lot of stores and shops don't follow the rules and ship it early, but amazon is just following the rules.Baggie_Saiyan wrote: They do this with new graphic novels too. And when did they ever have free delivery on items under £10? They started recently having free delivery to the UK on orders over £10 when before it was £25. I've never seen them have free delivery on order under £10.

I think they're out in America so shops could stock them, I meant earlier as compared to Amazon.rereboy wrote:Shops aren't supposed to be able to sell the products before their release date. They always, have done. Most recent under £10 order was back in October. I got the dark returns part 2 on BD for £7 free delivery.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
The release date in America was early February while in the UK its late February. If they wanted to release the volume at the same time as in America, they would have. But they chose to release it later. Amazon is just following the release date.Baggie_Saiyan wrote: I think they're out in America so shops could stock them, I meant earlier as compared to Amazon.

And that link specifically says "at least £10". Not under £10. So, you must be confused.

I don't think that theres a set UK release date as The Book Depository have them in stock, but that way I don't get my 5% discount.rereboy wrote:The release date in America was early February while in the UK its late February. Yeah, that's what I'm getting at they've completely stopped free delivery for all items under £10 as of this January. Which means It's not cost effective to buy singles Manga volumes from Amazon anymore, may aswell stick with the LCS price tags.
Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Everything always has a set release date. Obviously shops receive the products before the release date so that they can sell them at the release date. Some shops received them with a few days to spare and, because of that, they don't follow the rules and start selling them before the release date, but only because they aren't respecting the rules. Amazon is following the rules, respecting the release date.Baggie_Saiyan wrote: I don't think that theres a set UK release date as The Book Depository have them in stock, but that way I don't get my 5% discount.

And there was no free delivery for all items under £10 before January. Like the link you posted states: "Our Super Saver Delivery service has changed. From 7 January 2014, all UK orders fulfilled by Amazon with a total value of at least £10 will qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery. Previously, the £10 threshold applied to all our product categories except Books, Music, Film & TV, Blu-ray, Software or PC & Video Games. ".
The only thing that changed on 7 January was that only certain orders were qualified for free delivery if they were over £10, and now all orders are qualified for free delivery if they are over £10. You are confused.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
It's an annoying move of Amazon to imply this restriction on orders below £10 but I rarely buy directly from Amazon.co.uk themselves so it's sort of okay for me.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Yeah, that's what I'm getting at they've completely stopped free delivery for all items under £10 as of this January. These are the UK dates for the next volumes:
Full Colour - Vol. 02: April 24, 2014 (In US is April 1, 2014) (£11.30)
Full Colour - Vol. 03: June 19, 2014 (In US is June 3, 2014) (£10.69)
*sigh* if I pre-order from Amazon.com with the cheapest shipping I'll get it within 1-2 weeks later so I might as well just wait for Amazon.co.uk to send, plus they cost slightly less (£3-ish for Vol. 3) than imported so not too bad of a deal.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

No, I believe your misunderstanding it. They meant free delivery threshold for all items is now £10. Before January, Books, Films, games etc we're all free (delivery) regardless of price.

If I were to buy solely one item for £5 it wouldn't qualify for free delivery but if I added another product of a value £5 or greater then the free shipping'd be activated.rereboy wrote:It would be annoying if it was actually true.
I wonder why they're going to delay Vol. 02 & 03 in UK for later, it's not as if they'll be having mass shipments or anything, I guess.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
And before Jan 7th one could do that freely for books and films etc. Which as now really annoyed me, 'cuz Amazon prices are amazing. Now I'll have to add something to my order every time. /:dbboxkaifan wrote:If I were to buy solely one item for £5 it wouldn't qualify for free delivery.rereboy wrote:It would be annoying if it was actually true.

No, I'm not misunderstanding it. Amazon never had free shipping regardless of price. It always had free shipping for orders above a certain threshold. That threshold used to be £25 and now its £10. And on January the only change was that the £10 threshold began to be applied to all kinds of orders, not just a few types.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I've ordered loads of items under £10 that had free delivery. That's all I know. And now this is not the case, as Amazon have now said only orders over £10 will be considered for free delivery.
Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Yes. And before January that also happened. And a while back it had to be above £25. But it was never free regardless of price. It has always been free after a certain threshold.dbboxkaifan wrote:If I were to buy solely one item for £5 it wouldn't qualify for free delivery but if I added another product of a value £5 or greater then the free shipping'd be activated.rereboy wrote:It would be annoying if it was actually true.
Being free on orders UNDER £10 doesn't even make sense, because it only makes sense to offer shipping when the order has a significant value. It the order is too cheap and Amazon was offering the delivery, the cost of shipping the item would be greater than what the costumer is paying for it. Amazon would be losing money, which makes zero sense.
The only possibility for that that I can think for that is a limited promotion. And even that doesn't make sense, because amazon could very well be losing money like I've explained. However, the Free Super Saver Delivery conditions were never as you claimed.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I've ordered loads of items under £10 that had free delivery. That's all I know. Well, I see why you would prefer how it was, then. But, seriously, that practice simply wasn't very sustainable, like I explained. No wonder they changed it.
I don't live in the UK, so the threshold for me has always been £25. I've alway been aware of the smaller threshold for the UK but I honestly didn't know that until January some items like books under £10 had free delivery. And honestly, the whole notion still doesn't make sense to me. Seems like the opposite of what they should do. Therefore the change doesn't surprise me one bit. The fact that it wasn't like that before is what surprises me.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Their shipping prices are still reasonable on the hand, so it's not a total disaster lol
As if we've nearly taken a whole page discussing Amazon and their shipping.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Pretty stoaked to have these finally.. got them for $US31 total. Sure no boxes, but for that price it was worth it. The seller from the US was kind enough to send just the covers and the discs, which saved me a lot on shipping (I have hundreds of empty cases to use). All came with their inserts too.
