"Dragon Ball One" is the original Dragon Ball right? Then just say Dragon Ball and people will know, after all this is a smart picky fanbase not YouTube.

Besides calling it "Dragon Ball One" just feels weird, and in that case Z would be "Dragon Ball Two" and GT'd be "Dragon Ball Three" but they all have their official titles.

True I Guess I was just referring to them by the Release Name. Well My Dragon Boxes are done and complete but i still have one last Japanese Dragon Ball Item to purchase!! Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods Limited Edition. When that comes next month I will be all dragonballed out for a while especially already having preordered season 3 and Full Color Comic 2.

Oh, you fuckin' show-off.

I've always wanted Dragon Box: the Movies though, hence my username. Wouldn't mind owning the other ones actually, but I don't think I'll ever get them since I don't want them enough to pay $1000+. However, if they were a present, I wouldn't turn them down.

Same, the box for the original Dragon Ball was the one I wanted the most too. And yet it ended up being the last one I actually aqquired. On the bright side though, it was also the only one that I got with all the extras... I got the movies- and GT-boxes in the same state as your movie-set. And I don't have the ones for Z because really, FUNi's DBox is close enough that I don't feel it all that necessary. Though it does drive me slightly insane that Z doesn't match up with the rest of the series in my collection as a result...

Same, that's the only one I'd folk out the money for.

Anywho, enjoy, man! I hope you understand Japanese so you can enjoy them 100%.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I have Dragon Box the movies but these days I've been wanting the Funi movie packs. The only think holding me back in movie 12's audio and the lack of Japanese titles lol. But I think the DVD movie packs looks pretty good.

I remember that feeling that you had. I would sit there and look at my collection, having everything that ever came out in the US and it felt like something was missing. I'd see Dragon Boxes on here and want them. So slowly but surely I got them. It was great. I mean I don't do anything with them, but they're great.

Where do you go after getting all the Dragon Boxes? Getting all the Daizenshuus, Perfect Files, Cardass things, etc.

It's almost the same feeling I got when I was going through my VizBigs and decided, "I should get the whole Japanese manga!" I did.

It just kind of sits in the closet an I can't do much with them, but they look beautiful.

You could plug your PC/Laptop to your HDTV and then watch it with subtitles.

Masako did a lovely job making Goku sound like a child in Dragon Ball and then in Dragon Ball Z she matured his voice, then lastly in DBGT it's back to Kid Goku.

The sexual jokes in Dragon Ball are hilarious.

Even if he doesn't understand Japanese fluently he can easily apply subtitles through various means, so all is not least if one doesn't know Japanese with these box sets.

If you want to add subtitles just look up the movie or show (for example Dragon ball z). When you search it on google, type in srt at the end of the name and it should come up. Once you find the srt file, just download it and add the subtitle file to your dvd when playing it :D
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

I actually did that, but I took it to the extreme. I basically created a library of the different names, etc. I couldn't do it with the Dragon Boxes because if I don't know what they're saying, I can't make a comparison. So I had to use the singles (had to put them to use somehow) for DB, DBZ, DBGT. I had to use the singles because of their dub subtitles for spelling, etc. As it stands, I'm 20 episodes away from the end of GT. After that, the movies. It was a long...long...long journey.

I'm surprised the blue bricks don't look that terrible compared to the Dragon Boxes from Japan although the colors are slightly off!! Now I only need the Battle of Gods and I will own every dragon ball media material in the franchise. Since it also comes with Yo Son Goku

Since you already had the FUNimation Dragon Boxes, did you buy these just for the packaging and extras?

No I bought them because they are the superior release and it is clearly evident in both video and package design.

Exactly.

For example the audio of the films on Dragon Box: The Movies seems to be the best out there and I'd have loved to watch the DBZ films with that quality, because some of the 4x3 DBZ film singles got the audio really badly muffled (Bio-Broli) which kind of ruins the enjoyment.

Although FUNimation keeps on putting different releases of the same thing it's great 'cause there's a bit for everyone, but there's one thing I just hate that they do and that's over-saturating their "remastered" footage making stuff darker isn't good, we lose out on detail that's been hidden now.

No, that's incorrect. The Japanese laserdiscs have the uncompressed PCM audio (16bit 44.1kHz), so their audio sounds slightly better than Dragon Box: The Movies. Also, in terms of the colours, the laserdiscs are superior, since they have the fresh and less-faded film footage.

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People
