Psychological effects of ki (or lack of it)
Why didn't ki in this franchise have those psychological effects like with reiatsu or Nen in Bleach and HxH respectively, where you can hurt a weaker guy just by being near them or looking at them? YYH did something like it to a lesser extent.

Who knows ? But we have seen it affect the environment around them from causing storms to disintegrating rocks.

At most you see people freaking out over how powerful some guy is and cowering in fear. Or feeling that a specific ki is very evil.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

Yeah Gon and Kirua had to learn how to use nen fast just to walk past Hisoka. Kirua described being exposed to an energy like that without nen is like going into a blizzard without a coat.

It's kinda hinted at a little bit that Frieza's enormous ki was enough to turn the stomach, and I guess he did play on that in the way in which he intimidated people and ruled by fear.
But I think the closest thing we ever see with someone's very aura having some kind of psychological effect on people is Broli.

Wasn't it said that Kaioshin's ki was putting pressure on Piccolo, or something like that?Blade wrote:It's kinda hinted at a little bit that Freeza's enormous ki was enough to turn the stomach, and I guess he did play on that in the way in which he intimidated people and ruled by fear.

I checked my VizBig 3 in 1 Copy, and the only quote I saw that could be related was Piccolo saying "He is... A different order of being." to Goku right after he threw the match against Kaioshin, unless I skipped over something.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Wasn't it said that Kaioshin's ki was putting pressure on Piccolo, or something like that?Blade wrote:It's kinda hinted at a little bit that Freeza's enormous ki was enough to turn the stomach, and I guess he did play on that in the way in which he intimidated people and ruled by fear.

It's this line. I think the anime makes it out that Piccolo is unable to move, or something like that. Or at least that's how I remember it.Chapter: 439 (DBZ 245), P10.3
Piccolo: “Wh-why…is it so hard for me to fight him?...Ev-Even though I've only just met him…”

Well, just feeling a characters Ki in Dragon Ball doesn't necessarily hurt them, but it sure can make the character scared as hell.
