Which DVD & Bluray releases contain just the Kikuchi score

Post by Sshadow5001 » Tue Feb 18, 2014 12:46 pm

I'm thinking of picking it up but I don't want music changes all over the place. Also living in the UK will I need a Region Free Bluray player to watch them?

Brilliant thanks. Also how well is the placement of the Kikuchi score in kai?

That's a subject of debate, and the opinions on it are all over the place. Personally...I felt the placement was very, very bad for the most part, with some exceptions here and there.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I actually rather enjoyed the placement of the Kikuchi score. Some people fault it for being redundant (among other problems) but I thought it was great.
Kyle Broflovski wrote:It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room? I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he - he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and - and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

It's ok but it could have been a lot better

The replacement score is not that bad. Only some parts of it was misplaced.

I also had more moments I can think of were I didn't prefer how the score was placed over the better moments unfortunately. Namely some of the more memorable scenes such as Goku's 20x Kaio Ken Kamehameha against Freeza and Gohan's SSJ2 transformation against Cell, I felt the Kikuchi track inserted wasn't the best one they could've used.

However I did like the placement for Piccolo and Kami's fusion scene and the death of Cell via Gohan's Kamehameha.

Parts 1-4 & Region A/B but unless you're looking to be spending around £20-30 per volume you might not get them, unless they end up on eBay which happens sometimes.

As for the recycled music edition you'll be hearing the same 4-5 BGM repeating throughout the entire episode and that is really annoying.

Here's two examples for you:
1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7GVENoeh08 (Unfitting BGM placement)
2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYch_nDEa1k (Top 5 Most Overused Kikuchi tracks)
