^ No, no, you misunderstood me.
I just said that when Kai started back then, there was a TV trailer about a week before (which people had used to determine it was not a dead-center cropping), so I'm just saying we might expect the same thing for the Boo saga, about one week before it airs (if they follow the same pattern).

As for the Boo score, let me tell you by private message, cause really, we're not supposed to know this! 8)

^ Guys, I thought most members were aware of the whole thing right now, since the discussions about it took place around here. :)
I'll PM you all to summurize what happened AND keep the "secret", no problem... then I'll be the one to look dumb if it turns out to be wrong for whatever reason!

You don't have to PM people if you don't want to. People can simply read the discussion that took place in this very thread. :)

Yup very true. No need to do more work then we need to figure out who the composer is.

I think this whole situation with the soundtrack is so fascinating and it's a juicy extra to think about when I'm talking about and watching Kai. My preference for watching Kai is the original OST and I don't take too kindly to the Kikuchi score at all. I think it's bearable but that's as far as I'll go with that one.

So color me surprised at the potential that the Buu arc will have with a new composer and OST! I hope they keep the introduction song in though, no need to change it and create some discontinuity (more of it) within the series.

They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

Lol, that's literately the *only* post I didn't read. Tbh I didn't really like the Battle of Gods bgm so I hope it'll be expanded upon.

An ending song to the Buu saga has been confirmed.

http://goodmorningamerica.jp/wp/7846.html

It's 拝啓、ツラツストラ (Haikei, Tsuratsusutora) by Good Morning America. The title can be translated as "Dear Zarathustra", but Zarathustra is usually spelled ツァラトゥストラ (Tsaratusutora) in Japanese, so maybe it does not really refer to Zarathustra. The source says that it's the song for the first quarter of the show, so this time it seems to be going to have new ending songs on quarter basis like GT.

New songs typically mean new animation, so I'm all for them switching up the endings throughout the run. It will leave me a bit disappointed that Kai wasn't consistent the whole way through, but I'll deal with it. lol

Hopefully the song is a good one.

Since Good Morning America belongs to Columbia Japan, they seem to be tying up with Toei again. However, the soundtrack of BoG was released by Ki/oon Music, so I wonder whether it'll be used in the show. I know this is very unlikely, but maybe we're getting yet another replacement score for TV broadcasting?

Having the Battle of Gods music be off-limits would be such a weird turn of events. If we're getting a new Ending every cour I suppose this opens the door to insert songs a little more? Hmm...

Have they released this song yet, or it's debuting with... episode 99? Dragon Ball Kai 2 Episode 1? I don't know what to call it.

Cool news, nevertheless. I was worried literally every shortcut that could be taken would be, and only the bare minimum would be applied to a show with international audiences in mind. I guess a "thank you" is owed to Toriko. DB's stock just shoots up when something else fails.

The actual name of the band is Good Morning America?

Who's doing the OP? The Today Show?

Is it confirmed we're even GETTING a new opening?

Maybe it's still Dragon Soul! ... I mean I sorta hope not, but could be?

Same here. As I said earlier, I'm so glad this is getting aired in Japan. Toei might put in a little more effort now that Kai's airing in the "home field."

I'm glad we're getting a new ending, but the consistency nut in me is annoyed that the show will be switching songs so frequently. So now I don't really care if "Dragon Soul" stays or goes. If there is a new opening theme, I would hate it if they switched the song every few episodes to correspond with the new endings. No Dragon Ball show has ever done that before. Just keep the same song, but update the animation.

At any rate, I sure hope we get a "Complete Song Collection, Volume Two" because I'm not buying all these random singles for God-knows-how-many-songs.

EDIT: So if the title does refer to Zarathustra, isn't that... a little weird for a Dragon Ball song?

I personally would prefer Toei to keep Dragon Soul as the opening song since I'm already familiar with that as the "Kai song". With this being 3 years after the previous Kai run and having a totally new soundtrack to boot, I would prefer at least this tiny bit of familiarity to make me realize that "oh yeah, this is Kai that I'm watching".

Personally I hope they ditch Dragon Soul, as I always saw it as the poor man's Dan Dan.

They're almost dead on certain to retain it, though, for brand identification purposes.

Great to have new info so soon, I didn't expect it before at least one week before it was gonna air!

So, by quarter, they do mean that there will be four different endings... Interesting! It was about time it evolved like other animes, keeping things fresh and the excitement of maybe discovering a new ending quite often!
That way they can also make thematic-specific themes like they do in other animes, such as an ending dedicated to the life and sacrifice of the Prince when we're around that part of the story...
If it's like the opening, it might not happen in logical, transitionnal moments though. Dragon Soul was suddenly updated to show Super Saiyan Goku in-between episodes that had nothing special about them and were just in the middle of dealing with the Ginyu Commando, with no real "ending of a part and beginning of another" feeling.

As for keeping Dragon Soul as the opening or not, both would make sense, really:
- Dragon Soul could be the main theme for all of Kai given its short number of episodes (less than Z from the beginning to the end of the Cell arc, which kept the same opening theme after all).
- On the other hand, Dragon Soul could be replaced for this era just like Cha-La Head-Cha-La was replaced, it is a very different era and is the most "situation changing" years-long break of the story. Even between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, the only change character-wise was an additionnal baby Gohan. With that era, it's seven years into a completely new situation, a totally grown-up Gohan, young Trunks, Goten, Krilin with hair, etc... In the end, Toei created two different shows for the Piccolo-Saiyans transition, but the Cell-Boo transition is a pretty striking game-changer as well: if it inspired them that this new era needed a totally new opening theme for the original show, they might think the same for this totally new era, especially because we had a real-time two-years break too!

Both Cha-La Head-Cha-La and We Gotta Power became legendary openings representing Z.
It wouldn't be farfetched to have Dragon Soul and a second main theme representing Kai as well.
Two opening themes for the original, two opening themes for the refreshed version.
But if it was still Dragon Soul all along, it would feel natural as well.

Yup very true. No need to do more work then we need to figure out who the composer is.
It didn't bother me to send PM to a few, but yeah, it's even greater to have the link to the original discussion right here!

Amused the band can get away with making themselves Good Morning America. Befuddled by the song title, guessing we're going the GT route of songs that have nothing to do with the show and are just EDs.

Japanese bands often have awesome/quirky/funny names. If I remember correctly, the name of the band that did the first opening for Fullmetal Alchemist was a band named "Porno Graffiti."

So...two quick questions:

1) Is this "Haikei, Tsuratsusutora" song by Good Morning America out yet?
2) Was it written specifically for Kai, or is Toei pulling a GT in the sense that they're just gonna take popular songs with lyrics that sort of/vaguely/not really apply to Dragon Ball and slap them on as songs?

Either way, I'm excited that we're getting multiple endings. That means more songs, and more multilanguage videos of those songs featuring the various inevitable dubs of those songs!
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."
