What one word best describes what DBZ means to you?

What one word best describes what DBZ means to you?

For me it's: "TRAINING"

I associate pushing one's body, mind, and spirit to the limit through hard work and dedication. Is there an obstacle blocking your just path? Don't take a different path or short cuts, overcome the adversity!
"You might think you know everything there is to know about me, but really, you're not even CLOSE."

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." ~ Sir Winston Chruchill / Dragon Ball Z in a nutshell

Cereal.

10char.

Okay, I say "cereal" because the show is like a delicious children's breakfast cereal, not especially rich and fulfilling, but a great snack.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Life.

Corny as it sounds, everything I love about my life can be traced back to the choices I made because I love DBZ. So I owe it a lot.

Willpower

Needed to get through anything tough in life, that's a word I would apply to DB.

Ooooh I like that! Willpower epitomizes the ability or gumption to stand firm in what you know is right, despite the overwhelming odds. When Gohan faced off against Recoome, that right there was willpower incarnate. We, meaning Gohan and the rest of that group as well as the audience, all knew the inevitable result but Gohan stepped up and gave it his all. Goku against Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo...each time: limbs broken...beaten down...bleeding out...but no, he stepped up. Tenshinhan against Cell, that, that right there, was willpower for sure, Ten and the audience all know the only outcome... but he did what he had to. That's definitely a close second to training for what it means to me. Willpower yessir. :D

Why just DBZ and not DB?

Anyway, that'd be entertaining.

I think by DBZ he means the entire series in general. (Maybe that includes GT as well).

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

Because, to me, despite being one series, the whole tone of the franchise really changed when Raditz arrived. But people should feel free to discuss all of it and not just DBZ if that's what they want, the more conversation the better.

For me I'd say:
DB: Friendship
DBZ: Training
GT: Underwhelming
