They are grinding my gears focusing solely on DBZ though, get your butts to work on Dragon Ball Blu-rays damn it!
Make sure they are full 4:3 like the amazing job WarnerBros is doing with Ranma 1/2, then after those you can focus on remastering DBZ for the 70th time, and actually following through with 4:3 Bluray FULL HD. GT too!
Talk about Warner Bros, they were going to release a censored release of Tom and Jerry: The Golden Collection Volume 2 and then what happened? Customers wrote angry reviews/comments and so TaJ:TCV2 remains unreleased to this very day. It stopped them from releasing an edited version but no uncut release so far.

I don't know how FUNimation released the Season BDs seeing how much hatred they got before being released.
It all goes back on less effort, less money spent, and the amount of profit, think orange bricks.

Straight from the horse's mouth: Too much work to make money out of it, even if it did sell, it still wouldn't be enough profit.

Then, funimation decided to recreate the success they had from the orange bricks, because they wanted the most profit per unit sold, in other words, they wanted to milk as much of the set as possible.

The thing is DBBOXKAIFAN, these that shunned Tom and Jerry didn't have to compete with a ton of shills giving the product 5/5 stars on amazon, and calling it the 'definitive release'. If you haven't noticed, there are a ton of fake reviews out there. These shills have even made their way to amazon.ca under the same pseudonym, it's like they're lazy or something.

http://www.amazon.ca/Dragon-Ball-Blu-ra ... ewpoints=1

Amazon is also mixing up the reviews with the orange bricks for this product, look at the one published in 2008. lol
Look at this one from 2007: http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Blu-r ... ewpoints=1 Others from 2007-08-09-10-11-12, when did these seasons release in the past?

There is something definitely strange going on, the fans reported the product, and it was under review, but somehow, Funimation managed to weasel its way of the problem, while the 3ds remains unsold on amazon. lol

Maybe this is a shot from amazon towards them, maybe it's because fans said it was the same as the orange brick.

But when a product isn't released yet, it shouldn't have reviews from another product, or shills saying that is the second coming.

Funi will keep on releasing DBZ stuff on home video if they want to keep on owning the rights to the franchise. Once people stops buying DBZ on home video then Funi will likely give up on the franchise. Makes me hope that Discotek Meida or Sentai Filmworks will own the rights to the DB series when Funi feels like that they are done with it.

They happen to have exactly the same title so Amazon just combined them into one assuming it's the same thing. It happens with many films and series that have BD/DVD releases.

Apparently people on Amazon care more about reading what the series/film is like rather than what the pros and cons are of the product being sold, so it's kind of hard to know if using Amazon as the source for this.

I don't think Funimation will ever give up Dbz. As sales start to decrease Toei will adjust the amount of money they charge Funimation to renew their license accordingly.

This is an 80s/90s animated all-ages show that was popular amongst kids. It's not some potent super weapon that might fall into the wrong hands that we have to protect from evil.

DBZ is Toei's most popular franchise worldwide next to Super Sentai since Sentai gets adapted into Power Rangers. Maybe Toei won't let Funi give up the rights, but I would imagine that they would get upset if DBZ stop selling well.

I don't really consider their Ocean release or their singles as them milking those. they had to get them out there in the beginning :P and I can almost bet you this will not be their last release.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

While the state of physical media is precarious to say the least, I certainly hope there will eventually somehow be an acceptable HD release of DBZ. That said I can live with the Dragon Boxes.

Speaking of OD... If anyone is interested, there is this person on the web that has replaced the audio on the Dragon Boxes with Ocean DUB audio.

I think that survey and the cancellation of the Level Sets also tells us this-- FUNI views 16:9 DBZ and 4:3 DBZ to be two separate products. We've known of the Buu Kai episodes coming for some time, which most likely means FUNI has known about it even longer. I bet we'll get another 4:3 DBZ release once Buu Kai is finished. Then two 4:3 products won't be competing with each other. They know that the Level Sets will sell, just not at the rates they would like -- which means they'll put it out when they have nothing else left to milk (i.e. it'll be released dead last).
