Six minutes for every half-hour. One Piece Episode of Merry aired in the same one hundred thirty minute timeslot with a runtime of 106 minutes. This is still by no means a confirmation of anything.

As it was announced a few days ago, Battle of Gods will be released in Spain around May the 30th. The information comes with the new, final poster:



Their Facebook says: over the next few days, we will reveal the names of the voice actors who will work in both (Spanish and Catalan) versions of the movie when we confirm that they take part in it.

Curiously, even though they were announcing it as La batalla de los dioses (The battle of the gods), they have switched to the English title, and now all the information they release has the English title too.

Hmmm that is very interesting that they changed their version of the title back to the English one. Something about "La Batalla de los Dioses" just rolls of the tongue! And it was nice to see that on the previous posters as well.

I agree. I don't really get the reason for changing it, the translated title sounded really cool.
By the way, this other change is not that obvious to English speakers, but they have also kept "Dragon Ball".
The show itself was called Bola de Dragón or Bola de Drac back in the day. When GT aired in Spanish, they started using "Dragon Ball" and all the merchandise has kept the original title ever since, so it's not a big surprise, but this is the first time that anything about DB will actually be called by its original name in Catalan.

The movie “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods”: 85 minutes.
The special edition airing from 9 p.m. on the 22nd: 105 minutes.
We’ve added 20 minutes of footage. The relationship between Whiz and Beeruz [sic], and gag-action with the Pilaf Gang; it’s full of characters who didn’t play [much of] a role, such as Oolong and Mr. Satan.

I'm definitely up for more Beerus and Whis, also Mr. Satan (does he try to take on Beerus? I partly hope he does. X3 ).
Oolong I could take or leave.
As for Pilaf Gang; while I did enjoy them more than I thought I would, I feel they had eaten up a sizable amount of the movie while also serving a purpose to the plot and don't really feel like they need even more screentime.

I could use some animated singing Piccolo though. >_>

So, we're getting an extra 20 minutes of footage, huh? That's awesome. That much closer to Toriyama's original draft. If only we could have gotten the last ~15 minutes too. That would have been amazing...

Maybe I can hold out an impossible hope for a "Super Creator's Cut--International Edition" of the film sometime within the next year...yeah right. =P

And that'd be about how I feel. I think the Pilaf Gang antics were the last thing that needed to be expanded upon, but I am interesting in seeing what more is included to do with Beers and Whis.

It sounds cynical, but I wouldn't hold it against them: I would sooner expect Funi to release the theatrical version first, then a year or so later release a Special Edition.
