Out of curiosity does anyone want me to post any pictures for them of the new scenes? any specific?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Already watched the news scenes and I'm really satisfied with the final result. If I already thought this movie was awesome, now i think its amazing.
More than the extended battle scenes, I really enjoyed the gag ones. Especially Yamcha and Oolong scene. its great see them be the spotlight for a little.
Some characters that were just there doing nothing in the "original" version, this time they actually had their moment.
Like some people already said: How can I watch the "original" version after this?!
Its only a shame Gohan didn't put a better fight.
They could have fixed some errors too, but overall these 20 minutes were better used than I epected. Congratulations to the staff and especially to our Tori

I was thinking that Kaio wasn't the one who built the initial planet.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:But he says that the planet is that small because Beerus destroyed it, meaning that it's not a new planet, it's the same old planet we first saw in Saiyan arc. And since it was completely destroyed in Cell arc, the only way for the planet to be back is by being restored, and, correct me if I'm wrong, the DBs are the only things that can restore planets.Big Momma wrote:Perhaps he can only remake a "planet" around that size? I mean it seems he did it the first time when the initial planet was destroyed.

Good to know that the character model of young Goku is the same one as was shown in DBGT and Path to Power. Now only if the animation quality is on par with Path to Power...

Just got through watching the movie with the extra scenes and I liked it a-lot better! even though I could still easily watch the other version and not really mind. I loved the secret agent music that plays when Pilaf Mai and Shu are sneaking around.
(How did they become kids? I don't understand stand Japanese and can't remember them explaining it in the movie lol) I'm not sure what Beerus was saying to oolong but I'm assuming it was something along the lines of eating him? but whatever it was it seemed to be scary. But I liked the new scenes pretty good. I liked how the capsule machine farted out the chairs and tables
But I'll just throw this in my Dragonball folder until we get another official release of it. hopefully Funimation will get the entire thing.

So some scenes really were cut/replaced from the theatrical version?DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Anyone else feel like they cut out a few scenes from the theatrical cut? This is just the vibe I got when I was viewing it. I know some scenes were switched out for others, like Goku lying on the ground talking was swapped for Bubbles, um, reaching into Goku's pants.
That puts a damper on my excitement a little. I was hoping for some kind of "complete edit" that had every single sequence that was animated for the film. That seems less likely now. :/

How come Goku's SSJ hair is black during the Father-Son Kamehameha scene? He looked like Vegetto for a second...Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Hey, guys. I made a screen shot gallery three pages long of the new scenes if anyone is interested...

He is Super Saiyan in the anime, but his form isn't clear in the manga:

A few video game also leave him in base form:

Same scene from the full-color manga.
There are a few things I dislike about the new recap: the blasts are way too small... the Kamehameha vs Galick-Ho looks quite awful. The last attack Goku uses on Freeza is also smaller and (for the first time since Sparking! NEO) blue.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Since there seems to be both a desire to know about (and some confusion over) new stuff in the movie's Fuji TV broadcast, I'm going to start going through and making annotations of what's been added or altered. (I understand now that some of this confusion may have been partially my fault.) It will probably take a few days for me to go through everything with my schedule, but I'll be updating this post as I go.
The timestamps below start from the appearance of the Toei "waves-and-rocks" sequence and disregard commercial breaks. Note, however, that due to technical limitations, I am not running the two versions of the film in-synch, so I may miss minor differences in timing due to the new edit. (I probably also won't notice minor differences in audio, so I'll leave that to kei17.)
Anyhow...
GRAND TOTAL: 20m24s of new footage!
...However, the ending credits have been cut down for the purposes of airing on TV (as is generally the case), so the movie is effectively a bit shorter than the full 20 minutes extra, unless you discount the end roll.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
Despite what a few people said about supposed "cuts", I saw no cut animation, and heard (or rather, did not hear) only a single cut line, and that's one from near the end of the film, where the logic of the new cut makes it superfluous (not to mention an odd thing to say). Apart from that, one line is replaced, several lines are moved to a different spot with new footage, and there is some slightly different animation in a later extended scene to match the spatial logic of the extra action, but these have the effect of fleshing out the film and making it longer, so I wouldn't exactly call these "cuts" per se, just differences.
Hope you enjoyed following along!

Awesome! I look forward to these updates. I was 85% sure what was new when creating that screen shot gallery. Perhaps now I can go back to the scenes you note and add them to that gallery if they were missed the first time around.SaiyaJedi wrote:Since there seems to be both a desire to know about (and some confusion over) new stuff in the movie's Fuji TV broadcast, I'm going to start going through and making annotations of what's been added or altered.

Those Toei bastards. They could have released this version as home release.
I believe in the future they will release it like a special edition. Money is everything in business.
Cant wait for the sequel. The talk about the 7 universes could be something around the lines "The world is a big place" or the classic "There's always someone stronger than you out there" but Whis saying Beerus will awake 3 years later is my hope.

About Beerus & the dinosaurs, I guess Beerus did wipe out them, but a few survived. Besides, the Earth isn't full of dinosaurs.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

They shoudln't have added this, since a dino even appears on Earth in the film itself:

Isnt this talk about Beerus have killed all dinosaurs a misunderstanding?!
If it isnt, that some survived. Just like the saiyans, the races are never extinct.
And since he didn't destroy the planet, the survival chances are higher.

Dinosaurs still on Earth in the DB world, so it's very likely not all of them were killed off. It's cool to know some info about this since I used to believe that humans and dinosaurs might exist together millions of years ago on Earth in the DB universe.

Did anyone catch what Beerus said in the end, about what seemed like he said he would wake up again within 300 years? I heard "San-nen".
