Slightly off topic, but was "Full Metal Alchemist" ever used in an official capacity? I'm pretty sure I've only ever seen "Fullmetal" as one word with FMA... (And of course, the Japanese title "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi" literally translates to "Steel Alchemist" or "Alchemist of Steel".)
In fact, translations into other languages translate Edward's codename as "The Steel Alchemist" even though the title of the series is left intact.

Hmm...I'm honestly not sure. 'Full Metal' could just be a me thing really, cuz I'm not sure I've seen too many others using it, at least not recently.

"FMA" is a Western colloquialism as far as I'm aware. The "Fullmetal" part is always written as one word and when Japan ever decides to abbreviate, I've seen "FA" tossed around on some official merchandise.

But, Dragon Ball. I sure am glad our abbreviation is simple.

I've always used Fullmetal as one word for Fullmetal Alchemist, but for other things, such as Full Metal Jacket, I use it as two words.
