"Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion (incl. "DB Minus")
Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion (Tankōbon April
And ordered! Had a lot of points that were going to expire so I'm glad I save it all to pick of this book on the cheap.
Looking forward to the extras!

Great. I'm probably going to end up buying both versions just for the auhor's introduction that will probably only be in the regular edition.

So I was thinking about this, and should the Super Elite version match the Kanzenban's red covers? Oh well...

Because the Tankōbon volumes have always had introductions, while the Kanzenban (and Neko Majin) did not.medama_oyaji wrote:So I was thinking about this, and should the Super Elite version match the Kanzenban's red covers? Oh well...

Love the cover of the special edition release about ten times more than the regular version. Still not absolutely sure if I will pick either of these up but the temptation hasn't gotten that much stronger after the special's full reveal.

So, I just pre-ordered the regular edition from CDJAPAN for £4.99 via PayPal. Is the payment taken straight away. If so then that's good 'cuz I'll probably forget about my pre-order
and be panicking when I see a fiver missing. It's happened before lol.

No. CDJapan, like most reputable online retailers, don't actually charge you until the item(s) ship(s).

Are you sure? I've just checked my PayPal and it says transaction complete, payment to Neowing Corporation (CD Japan) for ¥840.VegettoEX wrote:No. CDJapan, like most reputable online retailers, don't actually charge you until the item(s) ship(s).
Maybe it's different ordering via PayPal?

No. What they do is they place a hold on your account when you first preorder in the amount you owe. The money never actually leaves your account, its just in "limbo". They usually release it in a week.

Sweet! The Katsura x Toriyama book is on CDJapan now as well, so I put in an order for that. Hopefully it will arrive around the same time as my copy of Jaco. I chose registered SAL for both so it may take a few weeks... Anyway, I'll take some photos of both and post them in this or one of the DB purchases threads when I get a chance (unless, like I mentioned, it's totally unnecessary by then

Excellent! Since I'm waiting for Jaco to come out stateside so I can pick that up, I think I'm more excited for what all is going to be in that Katsura/Toriyama book than I am anything else.medama_oyaji wrote:Sweet! I'm about 100 percent sure that if you use Paypal or a debit card on CDJapan you are charged the moment you place the order. The "getting charged until you ship" deal is ONLY for credit cards.CashmanX wrote:Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Are you sure? In these cases of uncertainty it would be most helpful to just look at their revamped FAQ on the website. The information about credit/debit cards can be found here:

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the physical copy in Japan? A family member is going to Tokyo this April.

Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion (Tankōbon April
So I just went ahead and ordered a copy of Jaco from CD Japan. I was trying to hold back but I just can't! It is the last single shot release from our boy Toriyama so I did take that into consideration as well. The late release in English didn't do me any favors either.

That preview of Goku in his Saiyan armor!! *squeals*
If he also appears like that... do you think we will get to see kid!Raditz?

Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"
Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion (Tankōbon April
I am always up for more Gokû (or Kakarrotto in this case. Wow, if he gets a speaking role in this bonus minus story, we'll get a glimpse at what an older (well, still a child, but not a baby like in the anime) Kakarrotto's personality was like before the head injury. O_O )
Kid!Raditz would so clear up how much older (roughly) he is than Gokû (I was always under the impressions by doujinshi that the age gap was similar to how Gohan and Goten's is, but for all I know Raditz and Gokû could be much closer in age). X3
Little Gokû looks so worried on the Jaco promo cover. TT_TT

Just pre-ordered. I was debating it but I figured, why not
Now to sell some things to make up for the cost lol I wonder if this will be included in reprints or end up in another Bardock manga?

Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion (Tankōbon April
Oh wow. I always just assumed that Goku didn't really have a life on Planet Vegeta before being shot to Earth. I think this idea was perpetuated by the naked baby Goku images, and the association with Superman's origin. I guess if pressed I would have guessed that he was born, and raised in a pod for only like a year before being shot to Earth. I didn't even think that we'd get to see little Goku actually interacting with his mother. This could wind up a more dramatic story than I had envisioned!
