Bizarre blurbs on Funi Kai releases
Bizarre blurbs on Funi Kai releases
"When the mighty hero falls, his young son Gohan rises up to face the very villains who murdered his father. The battle rages through space to planet Namek, where Gohan and his overmatched allies risk their lives to defeat the Saiyan warlord Vegeta - and the monster known as Frieza!"
"The monster known as Cell blazes a trail of death and destruction in pursuit of his horrifyingly perfect form"
"After learning that Frieza murdered his father and destroyed his home planet, Goku takes aim at the putrid purple monster in the greatest grudge match the galaxy has ever seen!"
Doesn't it seem like whoever wrote these either hasn't seen the series at all or is trying to dress it up as something it isn't? "Horrifyingly perfect form" doesn't even really make sense.

This is probably an actual typo, they must have thought it read Goku instead.Fizzer wrote:" the very villains who murdered his father.
Technically it does, no? The super warriors do end up having to fight Freeza's forces on places that aren't Earth. A bit of stretch but...Fizzer wrote:The battle rages through space
Well... Vegeta is Prince of the Saiyans, and he himself calls the Saiyans a "fighting race", so it's not much of a stretch to say that Saiyan royalty are warlords. After all, King Vegeta had every Saiyan fighting for him to stop Freeza.Fizzer wrote:Saiyan warlord Vegeta
Okay, this is very bad wording, but I guess Perfect Cell is so perfect it's disgusting?Fizzer wrote:in pursuit of his horrifyingly perfect form"
Well Freeza did kill Bardock... and Vegeta tells Goku all of that. Freeza's prevailing color is purple, putrid was to go for a grabby alliteration, I think.Fizzer wrote:"After learning that Freeza murdered his father and destroyed his home planet, Goku takes aim at the putrid purple monster in the greatest grudge match the galaxy has ever seen!"
There aren't very many problems in the wording from the examples you gave, unfortunately.

Well, a battle ends, the characters travel through space, and then conflict sparks up again. The way they worded it is more exciting but it isn't really true.Son Satan wrote:Technically it does, no? Well, I guess if Vegeta is still a prince, he can still be a warlord?Son Satan wrote:Well... What I'm getting at there is that Goku doesn't care that Frieza killed his father, but they're making it sound like it was a big deal and also that it was a bit more personal than it really was, for dramatic effect. I kind of think of Freeza as white.Son Satan wrote:Well Freeza did kill Bardock... and Vegeta tells Goku all of that. It's just, when you consider all of these things together, the descriptions given to Kai do seem kind of odd.

Somewhat unrelated, but did they truly spell "Freeza" the correct way?! Or did you just have to type it out like that because of Kanzenshuu's filter?

I'm going to assume it's Kanzenshuu's filter. It's almost impossible to spell it FUNimation's way without it getting filtered.TheOverlyMadHatter wrote:Somewhat unrelated, but did they truly spell "Freeza" the correct way?! I suppose that's a reasonable assumption. FUNi actually spelling it that way probably would be enough to be news on the main page.SSJ4 Furanki wrote:I'm going to assume it's Kanzenshuu's filter. Re: Bizarre blurbs on Funi Kai releases
Well, the ending credits on the Kai DVDs did have ‘THEME OF FREEZA’ for the insert song credit.

Probably just Kanz's filter because it's how as it follows:Somewhat unrelated, but did they truly spell "Freeza" the correct way?! Or did you just have to type it out like that because of Kanzenshuu's filter?
Dub: Friеza
Sub: Freeza
They always use the name Friеza for their home releases (except here and there), TV and games (even the Japanese are getting it too rather than Freeza).
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
