The trailer for the Spanish version is out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKgoUBy63uc
Amazingly, the whole original cast seems to be back. You have to give credit to Selecta Visión (the man that voices Goku doesn't even do voice acting anymore, and the rest of the actors are scattered over at least two different cities).

Damn, I was actually kinda feeling that until the 'kamehameha' at the end. The weak scream and the strange reverb effect killed it for me.

Maybe that isn't the final version. Out of all the VAs Goku had in Spain, he made the best screaming of them all.AjayLikesGaming wrote:Damn, I was actually kinda feeling that until the 'kamehameha' at the end. The weak scream and the strange reverb effect killed it for me.
There is an example here (it's edited so the audio doesn't match the video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etEElzQJlPI
Yes he does! He's his original VA, and a well-known actor too. The last time he worked on DB was in Path to Power (Bulma's voice will return in BoG too):TheRed259 wrote:Master Roshi has the most epic voice in ths clip!

I like his echo scream! Did he play Goku in all 291 episodes? (WTF why so many dislikes?)UltimateHammerBro wrote: Maybe that isn't the final version. Probably because in the episode itself, he's suposed to scream "LUZ INFINITA!" and since it was edited, it didn't recieve likes.TheRed259 wrote:I like his echo scream! He played him from around 50 to around 150 (I'm not exactly sure), and in the thirteen DBZ films. He replaced the first VA, who was working in the theatre at the time, and got replaced because a lot of time passed until the series continued to be dubbed and he had moved to Madrid.TheRed259 wrote:I like his echo scream! The dislikes come from the Latin American-Spanish dub war

Many people complain about the old translation for the Kamehameha ("Onda Vital") but I assure you that most of them just start listening, realize that it's not Latin American Spanish, and hit dislike.
That's true. However, if it was the unedited episode clip, with the "Luz Infinita" intact, it would receive twice the dislikes. I like "Onda Vital", though it's great to see the original cast saying "Kamehameha".Quebaz wrote:Probably because in the episode itself, he's suposed to scream "LUZ INFINITA!" and since it was edited, it didn't recieve likes.TheRed259 wrote:I like his echo scream! Sorry man, just not feeling the scream. They just seem to lack that rawness that other VAs have. Did enjoy the normal speaking parts though!UltimateHammerBro wrote:Maybe that isn't the final version. Out of all the VAs Goku had in Spain, he made the best screaming of them all.

Haha, It's exactly the same with the European PT-Brazillian PT, every European Protuguese DBZ video has some brazillian commenting their dub is the best and that ours is a joke (which, I don't completely disagree, but it gets tiring after seeing so many comments with the same thing).UltimateHammerBro wrote: He played him from around 50 to around 150 (I'm not exactly sure), and in the thirteen DBZ films. The dislikes come from the Latin American-Spanish dub warIt's very difficult to find a video of DBZ or The Simpsons in European Spanish without offensive comments from Latin Americans. The Ocean-Funi or the Kikuchi-Faulconer comment wars pale in comparison

Also pretty awesome that you got all of your old actors back. It just makes the magic of seeing a new DBZ movie so special.

Wow, they said "Ka Me Ha Me Ha!"?! That must be a first?Saago wrote:The trailer for the Spanish version is out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKgoUBy63uc

A third, actuallysangofe wrote:Wow, they said "Ka Me Ha Me Ha!"?! That must be a first?

"Kamehameha" was said in the first episodes of DB, which had a different cast and a translation straight from Japanese, and was once said by Krilin in a moment by mistake.

No, it got dislikes from fans of the Mexican dub who'll hate on any video of the European Spanish dub.Quebaz wrote:Probably because in the episode itself, he's suposed to scream "LUZ INFINITA!" and since it was edited, it didn't recieve likes.TheRed259 wrote:I like his echo scream! I wonder how much money it'll make it Spain, the movies almost at the $50 million mark.
I wonder if it'll outgross DB Evolution.

Yeah, happens a lot in videos of the Portuguese dub with fans from Brazil hating on them... though honestly, I can see why.omegalucas wrote:We understand their "war" well, don't we bro? :lol:Puto wrote: No, it got dislikes from fans of the Mexican dub who'll hate on any video of the European Spanish dub.

It's silly that they go as far as downvoting though, but then again it's Youtube, so that's expected. As a latin american, I have to say that european spanish sounds quite different from what we listen to and speak on a daily basis, so I can understand being a little weirded out by it (and there are some words we have no idea what they mean, but this might be more prevalent in written translations of comics or books), but if people don't like it or prefer their own dub they don't have to go raining on other people's parades. After all, I suppose its the same with European spanish speakers as well when it comes to Latin american spanish.
I think it's fantastic that Spain got to have its own BoG release with the intact original dub cast, it's great to go back to the past and enjoy a part of your childhood in a movie theater with the original people you heard as the characters. Kind of feels like meeting an old friend after years of growing apart

Also note that there's a star on NZ. Even though I already own the movie, that's great news! I thought the film was meant to come out here last year due to that listing on the NZ Event Cinemas website. Turns out that was just a carry-over from the Australian one. I have to wonder if it's being brought over for a film festival or as part of Reel Anime. I'm assuming it's going to be for the latter.
