Seems strange since some folks said they won't charge until they dispatch. Maybe it is because I used PayPal? Then again I pre-order from Zavvi via PP and they don't charge until they ship.
As I've already said, CD Japan charges when you place the order when you use debit cards and Paypal. If you want to not get charged until your item ships use a credit card.

I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he - he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and - and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

Yeah, I was hoping for a "Galactic Patrol" badge like the one Sachie gets in Sachie-chan Gū!!. Oh well.

So, wait: what's this about Toriyama's "legendary group of works" getting new obi with all-new illustrations and author messages?

Is the obi the small slip of paper that wraps around the outside (usually with advertisements on it)? Not the actual slip-cover itself, right?

That's correct. The obi is the little strip that wraps around the dust jacket.

I hope we get a full list of which titles are included in the "legendary group of works" soon. I'm guessing from the image we can conclude that Sand Land is among them (and possibly Cowa?) It'd be nice to finally be able to pick up Neko Majin and a few other out-of-print rarities.

Ok, well I hope that these get archived online somewhere, because I'd love to see them, but definitely not worth rebuying all those books :P Maybe years from now a new non-DB-specific Toriyama art book will have them.

So.

Viz is releasing the special chapter in next week's Jump issue~.

In everything but exact name they spell out that it's pretty much guaranteed to be Dragon Ball Minus.

While I feel bad for you Julian, I've been waiting for something like this to help me gather up Toriyama's works for a bit cheaper. So long as these revised releases see the light of day on CD Japan, I'm set (for whatever is to be included anyway). Otherwise, I think I might just cry if I have to think about letting this go to waste on Amazon Japan with their sky-high shipping.

I wish I had my own Julian... :(

Wow this does completely take out Bardock's movie out of canon. Can't wait to see Goku's mother.

Well... I wasn't expecting this at all. So, are we going to be able to get a script transcription? I already ordered the Elite Edition in Japanese but I would like to know what it says.

I know scans are not allowed but I'm not sure if transcriptions are permitted either... :eh:

For those of us who bought the Japanese release, ya might as well purchase the English chapter in next week's Shonen Jump as well. I don't remember the price of the other countries, but it's only another $1 for the US. An insignificant amount in order to be able to understand it. lol

I want to. God knows I want to. BUT I CANT. I can't even download the app. It won't let me.

I'm throwing money to the screen to Weekly Shonen Jump and nothing happens because the Digital version is not available on Mexico.

Would be allowed to post the script here?

Is there a way to just buy that one week's Jump? I have no interest in a subscription.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear this news! I'm glad that Viz is at least offering something for people here in North America. I can't wait to lay eyes on this work in an official English translation.

Pretty much, it kinda hurts for me to see this. I remember baby Goku going to earth, not Saiyan armour Goku. Nitpicky yes, but I still like the baby Goku in those diapers being a horrible kid.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
