Re: Toyble's DB Zero
It's a good doujinshi, lots of little details.
I particularily liked Desset being a barren wasteland occupied by really strong natives, with the big roots that seemed to blend into the terrain. Didn't even make the connection until the fruit of the Tree of Might dropped down into the crater with Tullece at the end.
And then Cabberoge, the Saiyan kid who had been sent to Orderve (hors d'oeuvre) as a baby was a nice little touch. He was even wearing the same clothing as the natives (just like Goku would on Earth).

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
By the way, the inhabitants of Desset are the monsters from one of Toryama's drawings from GT when it was still in planning phase. Dunno if anyone caught that one.
Unrelated, is there any possibility to give a similar treatment to Mutenroshi's special AF chapter?

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
Sorry to bump an old topic but Zero is amazing! It even makes me wish it was official canon because it ties up a lot of loose ends, explains Turles' far better than the movie ever did, shows us more about Saiyan life and, when I was younger, I was a massive Raditz fan and this almost made it quite sad thinking that Goku killed Raditz and then eventually Turles too...

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
I actually have not read this doujinshi until now and I gotta say it was better than I anticipated. Nice set up with the events of the Bardock special feature and the epilogue at the end about how Tullece found the "power fruit" was a nice touch. Not to mention the little Order 66esque montage of Freeza's goons wiping out surviving Saiyans across the universe. Good artwork as always from Toyable.
P.S. Thanks for the awesome translation work Campbeell and you too M4rb!

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
From a very recent interview to Toriyama (source: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/translations/ ... -super-qa/)
"Question - Please tell us about Bardock’s family structure! Did Goku, and also Bardock himself, have any siblings? (Apart from Raditz, that is….)
Answer - The quartet of Bardock, Gine, Raditz, and Kakarrot make up Bardock’s family, such as it is, but all four of them were never together.
Also, I think that Bardock himself might have had siblings, but perhaps even Bardock himself doesn’t really know, and at any rate, he probably has no interest in it, either.
Saiyans don’t have much of a concept of “family”."
This was the mother of Goku mentioned from Toriyama sensei.
Now this is the mother of Goku mentioned from Toyble so far. Look at this special chapter from Toyble's DBZero (drawn in the 2010) and laugh thinking at it (I'm not so sure it has been scanlated and edited in english): http://www71.zippyshare.com/v/74583304/file.html
Toyble has been kinda prophetic!
And... maybe we will talk again about DBZero when we'll see the special Giaco extra chapter with Gine, the mother of Goku. I hope for a Ratitz and Bardock cameo in it like this.

and this is from the special chapter -the secret of bardock-

And now, at the very end, this is who, ipotetically, would be Raditz's and Kakaroth's mother according to Toyble's thoughts (not drawn in a doujinshi fortunately, it still remained draft in 2010):

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
Dragon Ball Minus is a reality just now (and the mother of Goku too!), it's the true official prequel. Considerations? What about retcons and plotholes? Do you think is there a way to make coexist DB Zero (and in addition DB Zero The Secret Of Bardock), DB Minus, DBZ Movie - Bardock The Father Of Goku and Episode Of Bardock all together?

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
DB- directly contradicts the TV special, and maybe Episode of Bardock. So it's already impossible to make everything fit as is. Would never really have a reason to make any of Toyble's stuff fit into any of the series' continuities though, because they aren't official works for the franchise. His Toyotaro stuff, like Victory Mission? Fine. But Toyble has no impact on Dragon Ball for me. Others can do what they want though.
Re: Toyble's DB Zero
DB Minus is crap compared to DB Zero.
Do you want NEW GENERATION DRAGON BALL (Z, GT..) IMAGES? In HQ? Of all characters? Click here: http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopic.php?t=17178

Toyble just updated his blog with his considerations about giaco and dragon ball minus. In addition, he has just added dbzero scans (along with episode1 'secret of bardock' pages). Anyone could provide a translation for this post?

Re: Toyble's DB Zero
I have to agree. The only thing wrong with DB Zero is: Tullece (the events depicted in Movie 3 can't exist in the canon universe) and that Raditz and his friends look like teenagers but are supposed to be 7 or 8 year old kids. Other than that DB Zero is a much better prequel to DragonBall and it complements the Bardock TV special very well. I really liked that part where Raditz says that he doesn't care about his little brother. It certainly explains why he didn't go to Earth to bring his brother back right after learning that Planet Vegeta and their entire civilization was destroyed.Raykugen wrote:DB Minus is crap compared to DB Zero.

Could you repost the DBZero - Episode 1 scanlations? The previous link doesn't work anymore.

Raditz: Oh, this is “Tullece”!
Tullece: H…Hello.
Bardock: [r] Tullece? [l] Now where have I heard that name before?...
Raditz (offscreen): [r] He doesn’t have a dad! [l] He wanted to see mine, so I brought him.

Raditz: See, you really do look like my dad.
Tullece: Re…Really?
Raditz: You’re identical! You sure we aren’t related? Well, they do say there aren’t that many types of Saiyan faces…
Tullece: Oh! Mom!
Bardock: I knew it…!!!
Raditz: [r] Hey, Tullece’s mom! [l] Here’s my dad!

Mom: [r] Oh, nice to meet you. [l] Bardock.

Raditz: Huh? How’d you know dad’s name?
Tullece: Raditz’s dad just returned from a long trip and was about to go back to his place.
Raditz: [r] Ah! [l] Hey! You came all the way here, so why don’t you all come to our house!
Mom: Oh, I wonder if your father will introduce me to his wife?
Raditz: Sure! Come on, come on!
