How would you like a new sprite based DBZ 2D-fighter

Today I stumbled upon a trailer for the fan made Hyper DBZ:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzQkB1gVtXA#t=244

Wile it's fan man it looks pretty good. Obviously drawing inspiration form the late 90's Capcom fighters it really shows the potential for a 2D sprite based DBZ fighter. It's fast, looks good and shouldn't cost millions to make. It would be a pretty nice PSN/XBL release.

I was wondering how the rest of you think about this. Should DBZ remain polygon based 2,5/3D games or would you like some 2D action.

2D gameplay, sprites or polygons are irrelevant to me as long as they look faithful.

3D models of anime characters always look so strange. The only time I've ever really considered it well done was with J-Stars Victory Vs. Bit of a shame that the gameplay is the complete opposite of what I like from a fighting game.

Give me a 2D plane, some beautiful sprites and some awesome synthesized tracks from the show. Hyper DBZ is pretty much everything I could have ever wanted aside from Japanese audio so I'm very excited for that full release.

Pay attention game devs; this is what I want from you!

But...it already has Japanese audio, it's just not the default because the Intros and Outros of the characters have some exclusive lines with their own voices that otherwise would be lost. You can always go to the config file and edit it.

Anyway, YES! This is want I want! It has everything a 2d DBZ game needs: an impressive art-style and an impressive gameplay. Some changes could be made to the roster, but otherwise, everything about this project is perfect.

Thought this was new, it's Balthazar's and Cybaster's M.U.G.E.N characters put into one game. But yeah, I always wanted a DBZ game with classic fighting game mechanics.

It does? That's good to know.

When I last inquired I was told it would be English only and if I wanted Japanese audio, I would have to do it myself.

From my experience Vegeta has 3 audios. Sabat, a custom english voice (Baltazar's friend), and then Hirokawa. Goku has Schemmel and Nozawa. I always set it to japanese lol.
