Aww in your skipping Oolong's antics you skipped the bit where Chichi asks Goku if he's going to come back to marry her when they grow up someday and he doesn't know what she means but says he'll come anyway.

Crass jokes are just Toriyama's style of humor. I love it because it's so silly, but I understand how not being fond of it can make watching early Dragon Ball a chore. I don't think its fair to compare the DB script with whatever incoherence in the Funi dub, because even with all the goofy gags, the humor in DB remains consistent with the plot.

Fionordequester wrote:Apparently not. How do you do it? I've been upsizing the screenshots, but only because I felt like the larger pictures were more asthetically pleasing than the smaller ones. Though, I guess it doesn't not work as well for this as that does for video game LP's. I'll admit, some of them do look kind of grainy...

So what would you suggest? I would immensely appreciate any help, as I always want to get better, and I do want to get rid of that grain!
Load up the video on VLC as is, pause the video and take the screenshot (.png uncompressed's better than .jpg) and it's better to just leave the grain intact for the sake of quality consistency, but you can use something as simple as Paint.net for it.

For image hosting you can use ImageShack, PhotoBucket, Imgur or something else. I don't really like Imgur though because free accounts only take up about 200 pics or whatever.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

...But that's exactly what I did though. I mean, minus upsizing the snapshots by 200% on both width and height. Could that be it perhaps? If so, is there a way to upsize the snapshots without losing quality?

If that's as big as it is after you upsize it 200%, then those have to be extremely low-res images. So, no, you can't enlarge something past its native resolution without losing detail. And since this is a topic of contention all over this board thanks to FUNimation, what you're complaining about is not grain. It's simply digital artifacts from such a low-resolution source.

Hmm...shoot. Looks like I may have to just find some better sources, if I can.

Personally, I consider the Emperor Pilaf Saga one of the better arcs because it actually lives up to the series name.

Everything about it is so good. the atmosphere, the comedy, the fact that it introduced the main cast, and how Goku met them one after another. it's so fun to watch. i think it has the most "replay value" among the arcs in the whole Dragon Ball series!
