Dragon Ball toys with McDonald's Happy Meals in 2014/15?
I've seen advertisements of McDonald's Happy Meals in Japan that'd have Dragon Ball toys, Doraemon and etc but what about Europe and US? Are there any chances to get them too?
Currently McDonald's is having Super Mario toys which are really cool but Dragon Ball would be even better.

Probably not. Dragon Ball isn't as popular as it was when it was first airing on Toonami. We did get two different Burger King Dragon Ball Z themed kids meals though.dbboxkaifan wrote:I've seen advertisements of McDonald's Happy Meals in Japan that'd have Dragon Ball toys, Doraemon and etc but what about Europe and US? DB is more alive and active in Japan then it is in the US. If they would done DB Happy Meal toys then they would have done it when Kai first started which was like three or four years ago.

We had out time with Burger King. I think that was the hight and will be for quite some time. The statue figures were pretty awesome!

I would say that if Fox were behind the movie enough they could pull enough strings to get it done. I'd love it, though my bank account would scream bloody murder.dbboxkaifan wrote:I've seen advertisements of McDonald's Happy Meals in Japan that'd have Dragon Ball toys, Doraemon and etc but what about Europe and US? I'm surprised they used the word "Ki" for that Kuririn toy, since neither the American dub nor the American manga used that term.

Hmm. I remember the pewter figures but not that second line. Interesting things to note about the pewter ones, though:
1. Gohan is labeled #1 and Goku #2? Hmm...
2. Freiza? Yeesh, they couldn't even get FUNimation's spelling right. I before e except after c, guys. Unless it's Freeza, then there's no "i" at all.

Oh wow, I forgot all about that Kuririn figure. I still have that somewhere, never realized it was from Burger King (I got it from a yard sale I think). I think I also had that Piccolo...I just...didn't...remember it being that horrifying looking...wow.

I think it's the number of Dragon Ball on their stand? I really don't remember though. It's been a long time since I had any of them.Gaffer Tape wrote:1. Gohan is labeled #1 and Goku #2? Hmm...

Re: Dragon Ball toys with McDonald's Happy Meals in 2014/15?
I remember having some of the BK toys as well and they had DBZ happy meal toys up to 2003 when Super 13 came out in the US. I remember the Coola toy since I had a Burger King Birthday thing that came in the mail at the time and I can get a free happy meal for my birthday.
Fox is likely not going to have anything to do with BOG in the US since it would be Funi dubbing the film and likely releasing it in select theaters. New happy meal toys would be nice, but I think it's too late now. Besides, I don't view Kai that popular in the US even it came out.BojGrass wrote: I would say that if Fox were behind the movie enough they could pull enough strings to get it done.

That's be the only reason for me to buy food at McDonalds!!! I'd buy a happy meal for a DBZ toy!!

Same here. My other hitch is I'm on a bit of a diet and french fries doesn't exactly mesh well with diets. That's be the only reason for me to buy food at McDonalds!!! I'd buy a happy meal for a DBZ toy!!

When we were kids, that was why we wanted happy meals. For the toy.Eternal Super Saiyan wrote:That's be the only reason for me to buy food at McDonalds!!! I'd buy a happy meal for a DBZ toy!!

Currently McDonald's is having Super Mario toys which are really cool but Dragon Ball would be even better.I'm kind of in agreement with everyone else though. I don't know that it's as popular as it once was here, though I will admit to being significantly out of the loop on such things. I've got to find a crew of nerds to hang out with more than once a week. Where are you getting Super Mario Happy Meal toys? All we've got is Skylanders and My Pretty Pony...or something like that.

I remember McDonald's in Japan did happy meal toys for DBZ back in 2006. I remember on Yahoo Japan at the time, I was trying to track them down.

I don't think DB is ever going to be in McDonald's Happy Meals. TV ratings have changed and some people even consider the edited Vortex too violent. Happy Meals are usually marketed towards young kids not older ones like 4-10?

Happy Meal toys are marketed towards kids around 3 - 8. McDonald's did happy meal toys for Adventure Time a while back and which is market towards kids from 5 - 12. They also did the same for Avatar a few years back which is rated PG-13.TheKingOfKamehamehas wrote:I don't think DB is ever going to be in McDonald's Happy Meals.
