(Apologies for the single word post.)
No, there's the
Super Butoden and Super Gokuden series. Both were on the Super Famicom.
Sorry, my bad. I'm only familiar with the Butoden series.
I liked 'em, by the way.

Strange. You'd think with as many games as they made for the older systems that someone would have compiled them onto some sort of "collection" disc by now, a la the Mega Man series. It's not as if DBZ was something "obscure" that reached only a cult following, after all; it'd probably be a decent seller at the very least.
Plus, that's probably the only way some of us are ever going to fill the holes in our collections. I just saw that clip of Super Butoden 2 (which I've never had) on dbz.superpope.com, and now I really want to pick it up and play.

The
NUMBER ONE Goten fan, and a fucking epic one at that.

I doubt that will ever happen because most of the games are pretty sucky and the only reason why we like them and enjoy them is because of the DBZ name. Mega Man has a huge following and isn't a sucky game at all (well except 8, that was just terrible). I wouldn't be suprised though if sometime they re-re-release the ps1 games into a compilation (possible anniversary edition type of thing) But I would love the Super Butoden and Super Gokuden games to be released in America for something like the DS or GBA.

My favorite two games of the 16-bit era were by far Super Butoden 2 (the music was really quite awesome, and I remember it all by heart! I just wish Budokai had some redone versions of some of the tracks within), and Super Gokuden 2. I fondly remember all the alternate endings -- like how Radditz ends up surviving and training Gohan to be a true Saiyan warrior and stuff like that. :p

The first DBZ game that I ever played was Dragonball Z Legends for the PS1. I was at my cousins house, and he had a modded playstation with an extentsion for 4 controllers, so me and my family all played, and didn't know what the hell we were doing. I'd give anything to play that game again.

I've gotta say that I hated Super Boutouden 3 merely because of the lack of playable characters and then the lack of Piccolo in it. And then no transformations...

Back in my day, we didn't have in-game transformations...
and we didn't care!

I guess you have a point there. We are too spoiled nowadays.

Actually I thought the reason nobody bothered to compile these games were mostly because of the fact that they were released during the Japanese Dragon Ball Z's air on television. I didn't think they'd release a whole bunch of new games which not many people but us and the spriters will know.
With what happened with UB22 and everything, I figured they didn't want any other game to suffer the same fate, and which they left them alone.

My first game was DragonBall GT: Final Bout back in '99. I was visiting Georgia for a graduation, we ripped-off the Blockbuster and brought it back to Jersey. It was a rare find and I didn't give a f**k.
The game was alright, but it got more fun when I learned how to use the specials, combos, and meteo.

I enjoyed a lot of the older DBZ games. Hell, I enjoy playing them more than all these newer ones coming out.
All of these are still great in my opinion:
Super Battle 2 (Arcade) << best DBZ fighter ever!
Gaiden: Plan to Destroy the Saiyajin (Famicom)
Goku Hishouden (Game Boy)
Goku Gekitouden (Game Boy)
Super Butoden 2 (Super Famicom)
Super Butoden 3 (Super Famicom)
Hyper Dimension (Super Famicom)
Super Gokuden (Super Famicom)
Super Gokuden 2 (Super Famicom)
Idainaru Goku Densetsu (PC Engine Duo)
Legends (both versions)
Shin Butoden (Saturn)

I agree. A few years ago they used to have it at the bowling alley by my way. We were planning to jack it until I saw a certain episode of Seinfeld.

You too? I almost jacked one at Golf N Games like 3 years ago. I even offered to buy it off them first (think I offered $200 or something), but some fucking jerkoff kid broke the screen with his skateboard. I was super pissed. That is until I finally got my XBox modded with all kinds of arcade ROMs, which included this lovely gem. I'll tell ya, the game is super addictive.
