High Res (Dragon Box?) Screen Cap Requests for a Project

Post by Saiyajin and Juice » Wed Apr 16, 2014 11:34 am

Howdy, if anyone would be kind enough to screen cap the highest possible quality shots of the following scenes, I would really appreciate it.

1. Vegeta kneeing Gohan on Namek

Image

2. Gohan and Krillin powering up side by side on Namek

Image

3. Vegeta's shocked face and bulging forehead when holding off Frieza

Image

These next two I don't have reference images for:

4. Goku and Frieza (still in first form/in his ball) staring each other down, I believe TFS intro uses it while the camera circles around

5. Any general shot of Tien from Saiyan Saga, whatever you think is the coolest or best animated!

Any and all help would be extremely useful, thanks!!

If you give me rough episode numbers for the specific scenes, I can get you all this within 10 minutes.

Awesome, I'll read through episode guides tonight and try to pinpoint them, thanks.

Here's the shot from the Level sets remastering featurette.

This is an 80s/90s animated all-ages show that was popular amongst kids. It's not some potent super weapon that might fall into the wrong hands that we have to protect from evil.

Thanks! One of the best looking moments in the series in my opinion.

Here are the other two images that you had examples of, taken from Kai:

The background simply flashes between white and black. If you want, I can try to edit a Namek background into the image later.

Image

This one looks great because it's a 35mm episode, and they look fantastic in Kai since it was scanned in HD.

And here is the Goku and Freeza shot from the Bardock TV Special. I wasn't sure if you wanted the white background or not, so I took screens from both the white background and when it fades to the Namek scenery:

Here's a shot of Tenshinhan:

[EDIT]
I just went ahead and added a random Namek sky to the Vegeta and Gohan shot. I know it's not the exact background, but trying to find the exact one would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I think those dramatic lines were made for the card though, since they extend to the bottom.

Amazing work, thanks so much! Not to be nitpicky, but I'm unable to use Kai for what I'm using these for. Any chance someone has that exact frame from the original release?

Again, much appreciation to all.

I'm not trying to sound rude, but may I ask why? Those shots use the same film footage from Z (they aren't shots that were redrawn. If they were I'd understand why they wouldn't work), so is it that you don't like Kai's colors or remastering?

Quite confusing.

If you were working for some sort of commercial project, with Dragon Ball being what it is, you'd have to have specific permissions, documentation, etc. and access or channels to obtain the assets you need. There wouldn't be a need to rely on a forum for assets.

Well, I say that, but then I remember the Okami Wii box art with the IGN watermark.

Well, if ya say so. I don't think any higher ups would be able to tell (we could delete our mentions of Kai if you wish), since it's literally the same footage. Plus the episodes with 35mm film look fantastic in Kai (be nice if someone could get the Blu-ray version of that shot).

I really shouldn't have said anything about Kai, then nobody would have known the difference.

Or... I could alter the colors a tad on the Kai shots, then it technically could pass as color corrected Z footage (which Kai already is) if there's some ridiculous legal work really at play here.

Oi... Well, if that's what he wants. I think my Kai DVD upscale still looks better. :p

Anyhow, I added the background to the Season Set Blu-ray image:

Every post in this thread has been amazingly helpful, and it turns out all of them will be going to good use that I can't quite talk about at the moment. Not trying to be cryptic, but yeah these were really, really helpful, thanks to all of you so much for taking the time.
