Hm....If I had to choose, I'd say I prefer 16:9, actually. Something about the way it presents itself, particularly with anime, makes me feel a lot closer to the action, and there's still so much breathing room.
Favorite anime -
Mob Psycho 100
Yu Yu Hakusho

Favorite movies -
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Zack Snyder's Justice League

Something that DOES get annoying, though, is after watching straining amounts of old anime, my TV has the lines from the bars BURNED INTO IT for like 3 days.

Thats a issue with your tv itself then. I have watched Kai in 4:3 on my 42 inch Westinghouse for 5 hours straight and nothing got burned into the screen.

I'm assuming he has a plasma tv they are much more prone to burn in vs an LCD tv.

This is an 80s/90s animated all-ages show that was popular amongst kids. It's not some potent super weapon that might fall into the wrong hands that we have to protect from evil.

You can check out this thread they suggest using grey bars instead of black bars http://www.avsforum.com/t/1432070/best- ... -plasma-tv.

Do LED TVs get burn in as well?

Not that I know of, the TV doesn't even get hot.

Burn in isn't about heat it's when a static image that is displayed on a screen remains on screen kind of like a shadow. Here is an example on Samsung's site.

Doesn't matter as long as its in its original form. Though I make exception for Amvs, trailers, or previews if 4:3 turn 16:3. As long as for the preview final product is the original ratio.

Off topic: Have anyone changed their tv settings or console to 4:3 when playing a Db Game? I have honestly its weird

LCD's don't have burn in worth mention- the figure I hear is that you'd need to watch 90% 4:3 content over the collective life of your TV to get anything remotely visible. Granted, if you're watching 4:3 movies and respecting the aspect ratio of your older game consoles (only consistently 16:9 capable machine I have is a Wii- and yes I know its anamorphic 640x480), that might actually be an issue.

Lol it's nothing to worry about having black bars on the left and right side of the image is no different than Blu ray movies that have black bars on the top and bottom.

Unless you have an older plasma, burn in is not something you should worry about. They've been all but phased out now and any LCD/LED you buy now will not suffer from these issues.

LCDs FTW. I used to own a plasma and the burn in drove me nuts. It would go away at least but I hated having to worry about it. As for 16:9 vs 4:3 dbz I think the cropping makes the action appear to close and cramped.
