Screen Shots/ Captures

Post by chibi_goten » Mon Aug 21, 2006 4:09 pm

Yo,

I have all of the episodes of Dragonball,Dragonball Z and GT.

I have recentley been playing them on my computer so I could take screen shots etc to make new avatars, but when I take a screen shot of the part I want to save as an image when you save it it ends up as a black image.

When I save the image when you press play on the DVD option I can open up paint or Paintshop Pro whatever I am useing to save the image and the DVD will resume playing making it impossible to save images.

Does anyone know a programme or some software which will be suitable to help or an alternative way to do it?

Also the reason why I mentioned that I own the series on DVD was because I am intrested in making a music video, can someone direct me to a link of what software to use etc, I know I got recomended to use windows movie maker on one of the earlier podcasts but does anyone have any alternatives or ones easier to use?

I have a few songs lined up ready to make,

Hopefully I will be able to upload it to a site so you guys will be able to check it out!

Could take a while though, going away for a while soon.

Windows Movie Maker is the easiest. You can't find anything else that's easier and can still make AMVs on a decent level.

The method I use is that with Windows Media Player (Media Player 10 and Up) and...

Tools > Options > Performance

Look for Video Acceleration, there should be a bar near a mark 'Full'. Slide that bar to the halfway point. Then close Media Player, open it up again, get your DVD and try the screen capture again.

You can use a program like PowerDVD to take screen shots for you.
PowerDVD
There's a link to the free-trial.
Once you have that, follow these instructions.
Image
Once downloaded and installed, pop a DVD into your DVD Drive and open it with PowerDVD. Look for the little 'camera' next to the volume indicator, right-click on that and select "Capture to file."
After that is done, you can just click on the 'camera' button again, and it will save that specific frame as a BitMap image. It will probably save to My Documents>Cyberlink, unless specified otherwise.
I hope that was in the least bit helpful.
