By the way, the inconsistency of the color of Goku's dougi bugs me a lot. It changes almost shot to shot.
Also, look at the artifacts around the clouds caused by the color correction. It's a very amateurish error.

Okay, I've gotta ask - and I ask this in a purely curious POV, as someone who admits they're not a videophobe by any means - but what in the heck is an 'artifact' anyway? Cuz I'm looking all over the area where the clouds are, and I'm...not seeing anything. :/ Again, I'm being purely honest and curious here. If someone could point out what I'm not seeing here, it would be much appreciated.

There are odd lines digitally caused during the remastering processes. They must have simply selected the blue in the sky and shifted it without proper care. The middle color between the sky and the clouds was not selected, and it caused this.
It's basically the same as what you get by oversaturating images like this.
Maybe I would sound very nitpicky to you, but this is incredibly sloppy for a professional remaster if you ask me.

Ohhh, okay. I can sorta see it now, many thanks.

Though it's even more noticeable in that last oversaturated image, ack.

That's pretty sloppy of Toei. Those artifacts are quite evident.

What the hell? Did they color correct each shot individually? That seems like a ton of wasted effort for nothing.
Plus, those clouds look terrible. I could do a much, much better job in like 5 minutes.

Are those shots color corrected by the subbers to remove the green tint? Maybe it's an error in the subbers work.
Anyway, was Q-TEC remaster completely absent of artifacts? Just for curiosity.

There is nothing to do with fan subbers because I took the screenshots from a raw TS file.

It would be interesting to rewatch the Q-TEC episodes to see if they actually did a perfect job (i doubt it), or missed an artifact or two here and there.

Perfection and Q-TEC is something you don't see very often in the same sentence. I personally wasn't very pleased with their HD remastering of the Old Kai but at least it was still better than their remaster of
Galaxy Express 999 although it's a bit like saying the FUNimation Season BDs are better than the Orange Bricks, though it's just the lesser of two evils.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

Q-TEC's Kai remastering was far from perfect and pretty lazy in a lot of places. I loved it more for the colour correction than anything else, but there are tons of very noticeable instances of dirt and glare on the film. In fact, there's a shot I remember of Gohan during one of the early Android episodes that looks like somebody just dropped sand on the film.

Q-TEC's remaster was visibly rushed and better in some places than other, but it was at least done to a passable standard on the whole.
Toei's in-house remaster for the Buu arc is bordering on being of amateurish standard.

What're some good examples of the better places?
EDIT:
Also, it feels like some people are just forgetting the benefits of Kai altogether. We're getting a marvelous english dub with very few hiccups, and a much faster pacing. If this tint goes away in the BluRay releases, then we'll have better picture quality for the entire show, and Dragon Soul and Zetsu Go to boot.
I can't find a reason to complain about a stupid green tint. If you really don't like it That much, then use VLC and sway the tint back. I mean, really, it feels dorky to complain about something that even the Dragon Boxes had.

Looking at the titles of the next two episodes, "A Troubling Premonition! The Appearance of a Mysterious Warrior!" and "What's the Matter Piccolo? An Unexpected Conclusion to the First Round!", I'd say the pacing is about to take a nosedive.

VLC's hue slider doesn't work like you think it does.
And I don't understand your line of thinking. Just because the Dragon Boxes were flawed, that means we can't complain about a modern remaster with flaws that its preceding episodes didn't have?
Don't call something 'dorky' when you have no clue what you're talking about.

I'd say so too. I mean in 6 episodes they've covered a volume and a half worth of the manga, that's mind-blowing. Also there are a lot of scenes that are just quick little blips that you barely catch, the pacing is definitely faster than it should be. I also wish they kept more footage of the Seigasha portion of the Trunks vs Goten fight... but that's just me.

I suppose Seigasha is the animator that did the filler scenes of the fight.

Yeah, Seigasha was the animation studio who did the original episode where they fought, I was kinda looking forward to seeing some of the fight filler. It's the only filler I don't mind if there's a good studio behind it.

The filler in this instance is what would have helped the anime version being entertaining but due to the removal of it in Kai, sure they made it more faithful to the manga but it just feels way too fast, rushed and without room to breath which is a shame.
Had they kept
Dragon Ball Kai with ongoing after the Cell arc that staff probably would've done a better job than this one (unless it's the same staff, I dunno). At this stage I'd be better off reading the manga than watching it, because it's barely watchable even more so due to the mediocre soundtrack.
So far the worst are still those unnecessary tiny edits and the music placement when Goku meets everyone.
