Maybe it would have sounded awkward describing their appearance?
In all seriousness, Trunks only thought the only two Androids that existed were 17 and 18 so he didn't feel the need to explain how they looked to Goku.

I completely fail to see how AoT could be considered worse than DBZ. SaO, maybe, but not AoT. And don't kid yourself. Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
The best answer I can think of is that he thought there were only 2 in existence and the team would know them when they see them. Funny, until someone pointed it out, I never questioned why Trunks didn't tell Goku. However, I still think it was silly of him not to say what they looked like.
As to plot hole, does it just mean inconsistency? Think about The Dark Knight Rises, wouldn't you consider Bruce getting back to Gotham when he's poor a plot hole? Granted, I just chalk it up to "he's Batman, that's how!" and I don't need to spend time to see it for the story to work, but it's still a hole in the story that I don't think can be classified as an inconsistency.

Plot hole doesn't mean "something that's not explained." That could be bad writing if it hurts your immersion in the story, but it's also a part of pacing. Not every little detail has to be spelled out. You don't see Goku going to the bathroom every day.

That's just strange. DBZ has constant issues left and right that make it the laughing stock of the more dedicated anime fanbase. From what I hear, AoT doesn't suffer from that. What about AoT do you not like?TheGmGoken wrote:Nah as I love Dbz. I hate Attack on Titan. Just ask Kentalthatdbzguy wrote:I completely fail to see how AoT could be considered worse than DBZ. Like how you're trying to tell me MY opinion when i'm sure what my my opinion is. Now I can write about why DBZ sucks at being bad if you want more than a paragraph. AoT is garbage. One of the worst I've seen. Now Dbz is something I love. Rank number 32 in my favorite anime and rank 1(under dragonball) for my favorite manga.

Hope you know. I'm one of the most hardcore anime fans ever. I'll bash anything without mercy. Just like any fan. I've seen over 500 anime and read over 3k manga FULLY and even more I'm currently watching. Don't pull the "dedicated anime fans hate dbz" on me as I'm one of them. I'm also a smark member of IWC. I hate everything bout AOT. Horrible piece of shit of an anime. Don't judge your opinions on others. AOT got the same amount of haters as anything on the internet. Everything in fiction got issues. To me Dbz doesn't have a lot. Just 3 honestly. Even TTGL got issues and that my favourite anime

Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
We're not talking about some extraneous event that is beyond the scope of the theme or plot, Bruce making his way back to Gotham when he has no money and no one could get in isn't the same as seeing him eat or go to the crapper. And Trunks telling Goku what the Cyborgs look like isn't beyond the scope of the story, nor do I think it would ruin the pacing. Toriyama could've made a point of it later when the Z Team asks him what they look like. Have him say something like, "I just assumed you'd know when you saw them." What they look like is less important than the fact that Trunks failed to tell them that they have no ki to sense.mAcChaos wrote:Plot hole doesn't mean "something that's not explained." Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
Taking it from a real-life standpoint.
If you went back to the past, regardless of how trained in your presentation (speech) you are, you're going to get caught up in the moment. And obviously starstruck at all the supposed, great warriors, people there are, whom you've only dreamed of meeting. Trunks was very quiet for two hours, and kept taking glances at his parents. Meeting your father for the first time, and have him badmouth you is a start. You're going to forget a few details, even the important ones like ''You can't sense them'', ''They're teen twins, one is a brunette, the other a blonde, one is male, the other is female''. You also have to pause between reactions from the people of the past, let your info sink in, when they are at odds with your words, you're just there thinking about how they perceive you, and your info. You will obviously think they assume you are a twat, or go on rants, or comments that have less importance.
I don't know, maybe Trunks was interrupted by Piccolo, and just forgot to say the rest, it happens when people cut you off.
Again, the delivery was by a 16-17 year-old boy, with no ph.d, and I would assume less instructed than the rocket scientist of a mother due to his focus on prevention, and revenge, as he spent years training. I'm going out on a limb here, but I would also presume that he didn't have much in the way of class presentations because of the cyborg war, which explains his shy disposition.

I bet the Z-gang would have felt really silly if they got to the city and four androids were attacking it, but they didn't which ones were the right ones.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
That's the problem with you, you get other people opinions rule your life. Who cares if "hardcore" fans dislike something... (besides that what do you need to do to be considered "hardcore"?)That's just strange. DBZ has constant issues left and right that make it the laughing stock of the more dedicated anime fanbase. From what I hear, AoT doesn't suffer from that. What about AoT do you not like?
For example there a lot of games considered shit that i love, you don't see me changing my idea on them.
Also, most works of fiction have got haters, even the most beautiful anime ever will always have at least one hater.
I've seen people hating FMA, Death Note and all your "beloved" hardcore mangas, doesn't change the fact they are awesome.
Also, if you think DBZ is the perfect example of what not to do in fiction, you're completely offtrack, considered people all over the world love DBZ and it was the inspiration of many mangas you deem "hardcore" today.
Besides, the manga of Dragonball is a perfectly serviceable manga, it has nothing wrong with it. Many newer mangas have MANY MORE PROBLEMS than DBZ, like Bleach and Naruto, those mangas are terrible imho (at least the Bleach anime is better, not counting filler)
In fact, watching DBZ again after the trainwreck that is Naruto really made me appreciate again the stuff you consider "lame".
After the last chapters of Naruto, i'd really say that Masashi Kishimoto has created the new "laughing stock" of anime.

Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
This. It is a plot-hole that the names of the cyborgs who attacked Trunks's future spontaneously change halfway through the story, but him not describing them in detail is perfectly reasonable. He told them where and when the attack would happen, and that it would be done by two insanely powerful cyborgs created by a Red Ribbon Army scientist. Thus, when our heroes go to that place at that exact time, they'd hardly be all "Oh look a pair of insanely powerful guys who don't have ki and who have the Red Ribbon Army logo on their clothes. That might be them but WE CAN'T BE SURE BECAUSE TRUNKS DIDN'T TELL US WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE!!!!" It's like, there are things that in hindsight he should have told them, like the fact that they don't have ki and so their presence can't be sensed, but the only reason he would have to deem their appearance necessary information, was if he knew in advance that there would be other cyborgs. He had no way of knowing that. As far as we know, #19 and #20 might not even have shown up in Trunks's timeline and even if they did, well clearly Piccolo and the rest were dead before they ever got a chance to tell them that.Gogeta8001 wrote:In all seriousness, Trunks only thought the only two Androids that existed were 17 and 18 so he didn't feel the need to explain how they looked to Goku.

Re: Why Didn't Trunks Tell Goku What The Cyborgs Looked Like
First off, not everyone would react the same way, so I don't get why you are writing "you". And second, I understand some people would get starstruck (for lack of a better word), but not everyone would forget something as important as not being able to sense an enemy's ki. That would've been important information to impart to someone, especially when Goku expresses interest in fighting them. You're going to forget a few details, even the important ones like ''You can't sense them''
