Goten cheated in exactly the same way too, so it evens out. Trunks deserved his victory.

Trunks cheated/lied 3 times, 1 turning SSJ. 2 using ki blasts when they agreed not to, and 3 using his left hand which he told Goten he wouldn't use. Goten only cheated 1 time.

Goten used a ki blast too, right before Trunks did in fact — that's how he bounced himself off the floor.
