So, let's all pretend that we can travel in time, what would you go back and tell your younger self regarding DB?
Me? As stereotypical as this answer will probably be, I managed to buy all of the orange bricks in the space of about six months and what should happen more or less immediately after? The Dragon Box Z was finally announced for America. What I would go back and tell my younger self then is to have a little patience and to wait just a few more months before actually deciding to purchase the official release. Maybe for a laugh, I'd also tell him that in 3 years time the Artificial Humans would appear some place just to see how he would react. You'd think I know already but I honestly don't. What can I say other than that I was a very unpredictable kid when I was growing up
What about you? What would you go back and tell them?

Question can it be about anything like fanwork?

Sure. So long as you don't blow a hole in the universe

It would be either watch the Japanese version first or buy 100 copies of Dragon box 2.

This is an 80s/90s animated all-ages show that was popular amongst kids. It's not some potent super weapon that might fall into the wrong hands that we have to protect from evil.

Preset me: "You know all those Dragon Ball fanart you're drawing?"
Younger me: "Um... yeah?"
Preset me: "Well, when you're older, your skills will improve. And you'll be drawing a lot of those characters doing it. And you'll love it so much, you'll wish you could never stop. So keep at it, and never give it up for anybody! Even if they tell you otherwise. And who knows, maybe one day you'll actually complete a hentai comic or something."
Younger me: *looks down at shitty DBZ fanart... looks up and smiles*

Yeah, pretty much sums the show up right there.

Tell myself on how big of a letdown of GT is going to be and how the DB live action movie won't happen until 2009.

Stop buying so many VHS tapes, you'll just give them away in a couple years.
or...
Don't buy the Orange Bricks (DBoxes are around the corner.)
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Buy each volume of the Dragon Boxes as they are released.
Buy a few copies of 'The Saga of Goku' for trading in the future.

What would I tell my 10 year old self?
"In 14 years time, you're still going to like this kids show. Yeah, that's right - you're going to turn into one of those guys. Feel free to take up other hobbies."

Mark, You're doing it right - change nothing!
Seriously though - I learnt some life values from DB & DBZ, Stay open minded - be yourself, always see potential in others - even when others do not.
.. WAIT - Don't try and fly off the garage roof.....

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on
my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I would probably say be patient, the UK will get their own home release eventually. Although I probably would have imported Z anyway as I wouldn't have liked the idea of waiting until 2012 for it to come
