This forum needs an 'off topic' board

The difference is, Smash Bros is a series that is continually getting new things, whereas Dragon Ball isn't. Like Rocketman said, you allow people to talk about whatever, then the whole incentive to think up topics relating to Dragon Ball during down time is gone.

It isn't just Smash Boards, I've been on more than 20 different forums all of which have OT sections and subjects on par with DB in terms of franchise activity and only one of them went downhill, and as I said before that was due more to it having a spam/joke thread section and also due to the members constantly breaking out in arguments and the way the mods handled it etc.

I can respect the site owners not wanting an OT section but the whole "the forum would fall into chaos and eventually die" reasoning is completely ludicrous. Maybe it was the case in the early 2000's but not anymore.

I can think of a thread here that kind of supports why there isn't an OT board on Kanzenshuu:

There's not a lot of restraint going on in that thread, IMO, in regard to the not-DB/Z/GT subject matter, and I could totally see worse things in an OT forum *cough*politics*cough*. (And this speaking as someone who refuses to step into that thread because I know there's nothing positive to be gained here by speaking my mind about the non-DB subject matter.)

A off topic forum can work if there was Kanzenshuu subscriber feature. Become a Kanzenshuu subscriber and you get these features:

- Forum sigs that you can turn off and on
- A bigger PM box
- Sneak peaks and testing of new features being added to the site
- Includes a private off topic board on the forum for Subscribers

I really like this. Probably the best idea I've seen. Especially since Mike has been asking for donations, maybe this can be one of the perks!

I personally love this idea too but I believe the last time I suggested something like this, it was shut down due to Mike not wanting certain things behind a pay wall. I may well be misremembering here so it'd be nice to have someone at Kanzenshuu weigh in on the subject.

I know I'd be first in line to offer up the cash to get some nice benefits like that along with supporting the site.
