"Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" Official Discussion Thread

So, we have so far Saiyan, Freeza, and Cell arcs confirmed, with base & SS Goku, Saiyan arc Vegeta, Full Power Freeza, and Perfect Cell, along with an original character (Character Creator returns?), a high-tech city with a time-machine, and a Namek-like area with a temple.

Isn't it way to soon to announce so much of the story at once? I think they will have much more than the 4 DBZ arcs. Maybe more movies, DB, and/or GT? I wouldn't hold my breath for a big roster though. There also seems to be an original story on the mix as well, with similar things from DBO. Maybe it will be inspired by it?

And I hope that it will be Spike behind this game, but under the condition that the gameplay will be more like the Sparking!/Raging Blast games (I loved DBZ: Sparking! METEOR and DB: Raging Blast 2), and not like Ultimate Blast. But I'm positive that we won't see an UB game again, since I think that the fans made it very clear that it was a bad idea.

As for the graphics, they look great. But I'm not holding my breath for this game so far. Raging Blast, Burst Limit, Ultimate Blast, and Battle of Z were disappointments for me, and while Raging Blast 2 was an improvement over Raging Blast, and a fun game, it still felt inferior to Sparking! METEOR, in my opinion. DBZ: Sparking! METEOR, DBZ: Infinite World, and Super DBZ are still the best DB video games IMO, and they are all for PS2 for gods sake! Give us something good for once!

I would imagine we will see the Buu saga to promote Kai. I don't think we will see DB, GT or the other DBZ movies, but it's possible.

The past of Dragon Ball Z yearly games based around Tenkaichi/RB:

Version 1: Beta
Version 2: Somewhat Decent
Version 3: Decent

It's how the Tenkaichi games were released for PlayStation 2 and year by year they improved here and there. Raging Blast 2 feels more like "Raging Blast 1.5" 'cause that was hardly a new game.

As for Budokai 1 it felt a game of its own, and then Budokai 2 & Budokai 3 in terms of gameplay they were pretty close but still it deserved to receive a new iteration to make things even better.

Oh boy! A new DBZ game? Probably developed by Spike this time around? Surely nothing can go wrong with this! Seriously, if the BoZ dev had, what, 3 years to make BoZ, there's no way they're the developers of this PS4 game.

With Spike's success from the last Generation? Please no, let's pray its not. Those models don't look like Spike Models from what I can tell... That Goku vs Freeza pic, very reminiscent of Burst Limit, but I doubt Dimps is in the picture this time around.

EDIT: It kinda could be Dimps because look at the background in the picture with cell and goku, they look drawn like in most of Dimps DBZ games. Just a thought......

Spike have done good with the series in bt1-3 but the reason they didn't with the last gen games was because of time so if they had at least 2 years to make this (RIGHT) then i can see us getting a good game plus its easier to make games for ps4 unlike ps3

I'm not sure how I feel about the cross-generation factor here, I mean doesn't that mean that the game will be limited to the hardware specs of the PS3 and 360?

Unfortunately yes,the only diffrence will be with the graphics if even that

Those could be cutscenes , But i see where you are coming from. Really i dont care if its from Dimps or not, as long as it is Worthy of our time.

Tenkaichi 1 was nothing more than a beta released for the public than an actual finished playable game, the Tenkaichi series only got moderately tolerable by Tenkaichi 2.

If there were to be a Tenkaichi HD Collection as some Tenkaichi fans want then it'd be with T2 and T3, as T1's garbage.

Battle of Z is quite addictive when played online against other players as the game was mostly done to be played in MP mode.

I've still not bought GTA V (got other things I've been wanting to buy first) but when I do I'll jump in to the online mode those custom tracks look ridiculously fun to play with others!

Not likely. BOZ just came out in January so i HIGHLY Doubt that.

lol @ people thinking it's a DIMPS games. Those are clrealy Spike models. Heck, Vegeta looks exactly the same as he did in Ultimate Blast.

I wasnt really serious but still look at the goku vs frieza picture, does that look like spikes models???
