As far as NickToons goes I could see them getting the edited version and Toonami airing the uncut version. It makes the most logical sense anyway, but then again what do I know?
That would be ideal.

It will more than likely be in the 11:30pm timeslot as AOT will be ending mid October which is pretty close to the start of Fall. I honestly think that it will be the Buu Saga of Kai because why would they wait until fall otherwise Space Dandy is in reruns and the ratings keep getting worse and worse so Kai could have easily replaced that if they were starting from episode 1. I am pretty sure The Final Chapters will be the start of the Toonami airing maybe, they go back once that run is finished but i say safe bet of Buu Saga Kai being the Toonami Premier.

What are your guys thoughts?

It's still way too late for a show like that to be airing. If NickToons did in fact lose the rights to the show, I'll quite frankly be pretty pissed.

I wont be, they and toonzai are the reasons why many people think Kai sucks and is just a kids version of Z which is far from the truth. The uncut kai is more adult than any other dbz property minus history of trunks!! At least as far as English Dubbed goes!

I thought the main reason that most of the people who bash on Kai disliked it because of the lack of the Faulconer score, voice changes, and sometimes overly-complicated script. Toonzai's version is mainly made fun of because of the ridiculous amount of pointless edits they make but NickToons' version was actually really faithful to the uncut version as far as making it suitable for kids. In fact, I prefer the NickToons dialogue over the uncut version simply because they aren't constantly throwing around tame swear words like, "bastard" and "damn" every two seconds just to sound edgy and cool. As far as I know, Dragon Ball Z has always been popular with kids and teenagers mostly here in America which is why, although I find it cool that some version of Dragon Ball Z is back on Toonami after all of this time, I think it's rather pointless that Toonami is airing it at all. It doesn't bother me that much unless NickToons suddenly announces that they have lost the rights to Dragon Ball Z Kai/GT.

What if... they air Ocean Kai?

That'd be a shocker.

It's not completely out of the realm of possibility if Kix is going to be airing the Final Chapters on their network. Afterall, if NickToons does lose the rights to air Kai, then that means FUNimation won't be going out of their way to create edited masters for younger audiences, which in turn means that the only option Kix would have would be to air Ocean's version of the show.

I'm glad those types of people are still around... :P

Well, we have sort of just had recent confirmation that the Ocean Kai was actually produced for Cartoon Network. So in regard to the mysteries wrapped up in an enigma surrounding that particular production, nothing will surprise me anymore.

That was most likely a mistake. Tom Keenlyside and John Mitchell obviously don't give two fucks about Dragon Ball as they also listed the Westwood Dub as one of their shows that had aired in the US.

The Westwood dub aired on the UK Cartoon Network, but the company itself is still American. It stands to reason that the American Cartoon Network was still technically their client for the project.

"FUNimation @FUNimation · 10h

Just announced at the #Toonami panel at @momocon -- Dragon Ball Z Kai will join the Toonami block this fall! #DBZKai"

Yeah, Funi wouldn't be tweeting about this if Toonami wasn't going to be airing their version (or at least, they'd point that out).

As if some folks are still like bring back the old dub instead of the kiddy safe Kai. :problem:

Anyway. Being in the UK, hopefully there is something announced/confirmed soon for us too.

Some American DBZ fans treat DBZ uncut is some hardcore R rated movie. They seem to forget DBZ was edited on Toonami as well. Some people have their nostalgia glasses put on their eyes too hard.

I'm excited, I honest am. Uncut DBZKai airing on Toonami? Buu Saga Kai, at that. Sign me up! I can't wait to hear the dub of it and see everything they do right. :D

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I think they will start with Radditz and end with Uub.

Kai isn't 300 episodes, and Dragon Ball hasn't really been on Cartoon Network US in nearly 10 years. I highly doubt they'll start with Boo.

But they're starting off in Fall, it would be odd to start at the beginning and would make more sense to start now "if they're starting over that is" than to start at the end of the year.

Actually, Z aired in 2008 well at least one episode but it was certainly close to 10 years... Kinda wish toonami would go back to weekdays even if it's for a 1 hour timeslot which is enough to randomize and even add shows since it would air all week.

You should check out the Toonami facebook page, they're raging as it's not the original Z with the Bruce Faulconer score.

Well, this was a surprise. I honestly didn't see it coming, at least not so quickly. Woohoo though! I dunno how regularly I'll watch since I have the DVDs (save for Season Four), unless of course they do start with the Boo material for some reason.
