We also don't know how far in, time-wise, these panels happened when Goku turned SSJG2 and SSJG3. Considering it only took Vegeta, what, 4 months to discover the transformation? Adding to the fact that Goku is pretty much a fighting genius he probably figured it out sooner than 4 months. Still had plenty of time to train in SSJ for the rest of the months they had left for them to become absolute beasts. Τhat's my point. We don't know how strong Goku was at that point.Hitiro wrote:We also don't know how far in, time-wise, these panels happened when Goku turned SSJG2 and SSJG3. James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

At the very least he should be weaker than Vegeta and Trunks were outside, because he's first noted as surpassing Cell(keep in mind, Gohan only knew of semi-perfect Cell's initial level) with Super Saiyan Grade III.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Τhat's my point. To demonstrate:
SS Grade II Goku </= Cell(semi-perfect, initial) < Cell(semi-perfect, full power) >=< SS Grade III Goku >=< SS Grade II Vegeta.

It didn't remove the strain completely. In the Buu Arc, the old Kaioshin tells Goku that if he were to be permanently stuck in his SSJ state, then it would shorten his life. So there's still some strain here, even if it is negligible in the short term.Hitiro wrote:That's pretty much what it is I think. I'm aware. But I was thinking ahead. We don't know if it is actually possible to remove it completely but it could be a possibility further down the line.Kamiccolo9 wrote:It didn't remove the strain completely. I'm not sure if it's only anime, but in translation he didn't mentioned SSJ drawback,,or this is not complete trans ?Kamiccolo9 wrote:It didn't remove the strain completely. Chapter: 502 (DBZ 308), P1.3
Context: Goku asks if he should become a Super Saiyan before merging with the Potara, and Elder Kaioshin advices against it
Elder Kaioshin: “If you’re going to become a Super Saiyan, it’s better to do it after merging. But anyway, even without doing that, you’ll probably be plee~~eenty. The Potara’s power is just that amazing!”
Re: USSJ's Boost > SSJ2's Boost?!
The Grade boosts do seem to be quite monstrous. The way Cell dispatched of Vegeta so easily, it appeared to be quite the massive gap there. Now considering that Trunks greatly surpasses Cell, that in itself probably suggests at least a 2x boost for Grade 3 itself.
