What's the movie like in theatres?
Anything particularly cool in terms of sound?

Re: Ssjg Gokû's voice
Unlike the regular ssj forms (1 through 4) where Nozawa would get either rougher-speaking or deeper in tone, there wasn't anything voice-wise that made ssjg Gokû's speech any different from base form Gokû, was there? I feel like if there was anything unique about that form's voice that someone would have noticed and brought it up by now.
If it's the same way of speaking as base form Gokû, I'd prefer they do the same in the English dub.
On hiatus.

So is that Two Steps from Hell BGM I'm hearing in the background? I think it is.
Good luck at hyping the epic of this movie Funimation- you're gonna crash and burn.
Dub will be fun, though; I would be honestly surprised if Sabat did not have a halfway heart attack at the thought of his having to do the bingo scene- should he know about it. If not, well, that's going to be a rude awakening.

If he can do Garterbelt from Panty and Stocking, I think he'll survive the Bingo scene.

FUNimation Entertainment will be partnering with Screenvision, a leader in cinema advertising and alternative content, to bring Dragon Ball Z : Battle of Gods to over 350 screens across the US & Canada.
There is still plenty more to announce in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more information regarding release dates and cast announcements.

I'm usually against taking liberties with the script of a dub, but I kind of hope they just thrown in one line for King Kai that explains why his planet is back and fixes that plot hole. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING GOKU? I just got this planet back as a birthday gift form the Grand Kai, I don't want to see it get destroyed again!" Or something about wishing it back, or whatever!
Also, I thought the Kamehameha was FINE in the trailer. I'm really excited too, even though I love the Japanese version... I grew up watching Funi's dub so I have an attachment to all those voices of the characters. I'm gonna definitely see it in theaters since I missed the Movie 12 theatrical run when that happened and I still regret it!
As for the home release. I know it's very unlikely, but I would SO like to see them include the bonus extras from the Japanese versions on the making of it all with subtitles or something.

There is no plothole. His planet being back is addressed in the Special Edition. Whether or not that is the version Funimation has the rights to or not is another story.

Forgive me, as I have no seen the special edition and I didn't see anything listed that resolved that as part of the additional content. What exactly is the explanation?

It's difficult to say, as the special was produced for Shonen Jump - so if anyone in America has the first shout on licensing it, you'd assume it'd be Viz, as they carry the property of the Dragonball manga.
One would assume that if it were simple for Funimation to get their hands on it, they would have done so already by now.

Is Adult Gohan in this movie? I don't think they can do that if that's the case. Unless they already have a DUB voice for him that they're going to use in KAI? You know since he doesn't have a Kai dub voice yet...
Well Kyle Hebert did say he was recording for Kai months ago so that would imply he's still the voice of Adult Gohan. I really, really doubt they would replace him unless of course they want Gohan to sound more like Colleen Clinkenbeard's so in that case I could see Todd Haberkorn doing Gohan. Doubt it though.
The last time we hung out together at a con, he told me he was offered to come back for Kai. If that is the case, he'll probably be voice Gohan in Barrle of Gods.

Hope its gonna be at many Cineplex Entertainment theatres as it could be (my experience as a cast member and coop student). Can't be so much better at this pace.

Not a whole lot if it's a screening for a few days. Some fans are let down that we are not getting a major release, but that's how foreign movies work here in the US. There's a small market for these type of movies. If the movie is release then more then 20 theaters we could make at least three million on opening week. The Aqua Teen movie made over 3 million on a limited release on it's first release.
I'd actually be surprised if the movie made $3 million total. Even that Wind Rises film from Disney made only $5 million.
Then again the movie made $4.4 million in Mexico and US is a bigger market but then it was released on twice as many screens as what it will be in US.

The trailer is one of the most watched videos on
World Star Hip-Hop of all places at the moment

.
That's one thing that flies under the radar - Black people LOVE Dragon Ball Z.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
