This. Gimme JumpvC. Make it work like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and I will literally go nuts and never leave my room again. Capcom pls.

I can already see how the mechanics could work. You could have characters like Goku and Vegeta play the typical MvC "I'm pretty good at melee but I also like fireballs" style, characters like Himura Kenshin and Naruto could be ninja style characters a la Strider Hiryu, Luffy with his stretchy limbs could play similar to Dhalsim, etc. There are tons of ways to make a game like this work. Not to mention that the speed of that style of game fits DBZ really well as a franchise. I would LOVE to see something with DBZ at EVO.
Id rather just get a 2D fighter composed of Jump characters. Basically Jstars on the MVC3 engine.

Basically this. Or just DBZ. I'm pretty sure there's a Hokuto No Ken game that plays like a traditional fighter on PS2. They could DBZ like that.

I think a DB/Z/GT 2D fighter developed by Netherrealm Studios, featuring a cast of mostly obscure, underutilized characters, would be the coolest fucking thing.

A yugioh Pokemon styled fighter would be cool.
Or a Shamaking X Bleach game.

If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.
