Found this on Amazon:

ImageImage

Looks a little better with more color and detail but still not great. At least we know what the spine looks like too. Why did they feel the need to put Super #13 on it though?

EDIT: Actually side by side it's been redrawn completely. It looks a ton better, a cover Meri could be proud of!

Yay! 300th post!

Ok, It's definatly an improvement.

But the Japanese cover still wins.

Not surprising. The 'old' art was so bad that it HAD to be a concept cover. I'm just glad it was.

Any kind of word on what the cover for the Wii version (Tenkaichi Neo) will look like?

I feel a lot better now. Atari heard my complaining, and decided to do something about it. I'm glad they didn't use that flash one, or else the game would've looked horrible.

MUUUUUUUCH better. It might pass off as official artwork now. It looks like something I can display on my shelf without shame now.

And just like everyone else, I think the Japanese cover is much better.

I STILL don't actually like that cover, but it is much improved.
They totally fixed that posing issue I had, earlier in this topic; in particular, the wrist isn't bent at an awkward 90 degree angle anymore.

Now that is one of the best video game cover updates I've ever seen.

And now it looks less like a crappy re-trace of a screenshot taken from the Ultimate Battle 22 opening! I'm also relieved they touched up the forms of Goku reflected in his sword, and added colour. The position of the hand looks more natural and less... Macromedia Flash 6 testicles-y... Much better than I ever hoped.

But I still prefer the Japanese box art, though...

But Europe gets the Japanese box art anyway. We pwn. 8)

Looks whoever did this new, revamped artwork for the US Sparking! NEO cover is the artist of the US Super DBZ cover. The style is extremely similar.

In an interview with Ryo Mito that Steven Perry posted a while back (just look on Gamspot :P), there's a poster behind Mito and the half-retarded Atari guy, which shows a giant SSJ2 Gohan eye, with characters reflected in it. Suppose that might end up being the Wii cover...? :?

This person also seems to have done all the Ultimate Uncut DVD covers, Shin Budokai, and Advanced Adventure. All of them have a similar style.

I wonder who it is.

Anyway, the JPN cover still surpasses this version...but I think I know why they use their own covers instead of the Japanese coverart. Most of the games in the US have the name of the game towards the top of the image, some at the middle, as opposed to Japanese games have the name of the game at the bottom. Advertisements and such here in the US seem to want to have the name stick out, and most people seem to look at the top of the image first, and the bottom last.

I don't know where I'm going with this..but in a shortened, condensed version of what I said above, the new covers with the names on top are a marketing tool. Although the Japanese cover captures more attention to me..

I thought everyone knew that the first image was just a concept art, a place holder if you will. In fact I believe I said so when it first popped up in this thread...oh well.

It does look nice, though I question why they would place future Trunks of all characters on the cover. He was a great fighter sure, but he only appears in one major arc of the DBZ story, where as this game will supposedly span from early DragonBall to the end of GT.

...As usual, Japanese cover for the win.

EDIT: Actually side by side it's been redrawn completely. It looks a ton better, a cover Meri could be proud of!
Oh yeah. Now his bangs aren't skin-colored anymore!

BTW, was [Neko Ma-jin Z] ever confirmed or was that another hoax? I don't feel like going back a billion pages to check.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Unfortunatly, our beloved cat friend Z was never given a true confirmation.

However, fingers are still crossed for Jump Ultimate Stars.

They could have just as easily shown Gohan with the Z-Sword. :)

Does he even have that Kai outfit in this game though? :P

I've always thought it's because they simpily don't want to pay royalties for using the Japanese box art so they just make their own.

Can anybody confirm this: In the last video, is that the same attack that Trunks used to kill Imperfect Cell in his timeline? Is there a name for it?
I noticed watching these videos that there were no original music during the fights even if the voices were in Japanese... So I guess no original music for European release of this game after all :/
