The JSAT Special was officially and legally streamed with English subtitles by Shueisha. It existed at one point in time for English-speaking fans to consume. Tarble was also included in Raging Blast 2 worldwide with no edits. There's no reason to suddenly dance around his existence.dodge2461 wrote:I wonder how Funi will handle the "Don't you have a brother, Vegeta?" line. Will they do a simple line change, or will they actually dub and release the JSAT Special? It'd be especially awesome if they played it before the movie started in theaters.

They really should at least have a version of the movie with the Faulconer score, it'd do wonders for the film. It'd certainly be better than that unfitting Jpop song they shoved in there to sell CD's.

I can't believe that I hadn't even realized until just now that this movie is going to be released in English. That's what happens when you stop following Dragon Ball for several weeks. I wonder if the dub will include the 20th Century Fox logo at the beginning of the film.

You think FLOW's insert song is not only J-Pop, but unfitting J-Pop? I'd love to hear why. It's the musical highlight of the film for me.Bullza wrote:They really should at least have a version of the movie with the Faulconer score, it'd do wonders for the film. Have you listened to much J-Pop? What about this song sounds the same compared to what you've heard?

On the list of things that are likely to happen... this is near the bottom. Not gonna happen, and it would be both nonsensical and a waste of time and money on Funi's part.Bullza wrote:They really should at least have a version of the movie with the Faulconer score, it'd do wonders for the film.

God I agree with this so much! When they started fighting and that song started playing it was and still is so awesome! I hope Funi doesn't dub that which they probably will. I definitely don't want Funimation re-scoring this movie. I'm a dub fan and I grew up with the Faulconer and heck, I like it. but it had its time....time to let some stuff go.VegettoEX wrote:You think FLOW's insert song is not only J-Pop, but unfitting J-Pop? Edit - Also I don't want people to think I'm a weaboo or whatever that is or how it's spelled. simply because I like a-lot of Japanese intro's and endings and such.
I don't watch much Anime but I do wished that ones I do watch, they'd leave a-lot of the Japanese stuff alone. like the intro for Kai? I switch it to Japanese in the beginning and then back to english when the show starts. just the way I like it.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Is there really anything to worry about as far as FUNi re-scoring the film? I thought those days were long behind us? Why would they even consider doing it at this point?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
No, they won't do it. You're correct, those awful business practices are a thing of the past and it's only ridiculous fans who hope for that nonsense nowadays.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:Is there really anything to worry about as far as FUNi re-scoring the film? Of course they wouldn't do it, I'm just saying it would be a better movie if they took the Faulconer tracks from DBZ and put them in BoG. The original music wasn't that good especially when they started having some Japanese pop stars singing in it for no reason. The Tori-bot wrote:On the list of things that are likely to happen... this is near the bottom. Well now I disagree a little with you here bud. I can understand fans who grew up with the US broadcast score of the movies and TV series wanting/expecting the new movie to get a re-score. I love the Dub and broadcast score(And too many other versions haha) but I don't wish this movie would get a re-score but I wouldn't call someone a ridiculous fan for wanting it. awful business practices are not long gone either. people said when Kai came out and the Dragon-boxes that Funi's bad cropping and remastering was in the past then Ta-da! New Blu-rays cropped! hahaAjayLikesGaming wrote:No, they won't do it. What's the problem? Like what you like and stand up for it. Or don't, and just ignore what other folks say to you when it's not constructive.samuraix123 wrote:Also I don't want people to think I'm a weaboo or whatever that is or how it's spelled.
Bullza, I can't tell if you're purposefully not answering my questions and instead responding to others about the J-Pop thing. FLOW is a pretty legitimate band that performs their own instruments, writes their own songs, have done so for about a decade, and at least one of them is even older than I am. Not exactly what I'd call "J-Pop stars" and their music is certainly not what I'd classify with the likes of folks like Amuro Namie never mind idol groups like Morning Musume.
If you want to legitimately complain about J-Pop in your DBZ, AKB48 and "Kokoro no Hane" are right there waiting for you!

He wasn't referring to every awful business practice FUNi is guilty of, but specifically about the archaic practice of replacement scoring. It's just something that most companies, FUNi for sure, don't do anymore. I remember when FUNi started dubbing Kai, the question came up about creating a replacement score and they said it had never even been a consideration. Bottom line: I just can't really see why people are getting worried about it. The chances of it happening are slim-to-none.samuraix123 wrote:awful business practices are not long gone either. people said when Kai came out and the Dragon-boxes that Funi's bad cropping and remastering was in the past then Ta-da! I wouldn't necessarily call using a replacement score an "awful" business practice, but I definitely think it's for the best that Funimation no longer does that.

Whoops! Sorry about that then.
I thought he just meant in general that Funi isn't making the same mistakes as they once did. Thinking about it now, I should have caught that.

I don't really know if you intend for that first sentence to come across as condescending but that 'bud' addition certainly sounds it.samuraix123 wrote:Well now I disagree a little with you here bud. I don't understand it. Surely those fans are old enough to understand how much a score can change the tone of a film. Surely they're intelligent enough to understand that what they enjoyed as a kid was a horrendous version of the show that bares little resemblance to the source material.
Understanding that and still wanting it is absolutely ridiculous and I don't think that's unfair to say.
Regarding business practices, you're right, it's not totally in the past but damn, at least we're actually getting the show in a state that almost resembles its origins.

No no no. I wasn't meaning anything when I said bud. a-lot of the times I call people buddy or bud because everyone on Kanzenshuu is my buddy. I have no problems with nobody here. sorry about that.
Edit - Also a-lot of the dub fans I know really don't care at all about the source material or anything like that.

1 thing I hope more than anything is Funi gets the extended version. I can't stand the thought of that not getting released. lol also I think a-lot of my friends are going to be disappointed with this movie. one of them even started saying they hope it has battles like the first Broly movie.

Maybe. It'd just depend on her availability probably though, considering she's now based in LA and just comes back to Texas to continue roles such as Lucy (same with Haberkorn in the case of Natsu). Marron's such a small role though, that it's not like they'd constantly need her, so she could easily do the role and not have to come back to it too often.KentalSSJ6 wrote:My money is that shell be voiced by Cherami Leigh (Lucy Heartfilia, Patty, young Amelia).
As far as Table and the Jump special goes, I'm really hoping that FUNi may have worked out some kind of deal to where they can include that on their home release of Battle of Gods, even if it's sub-only (though I would hope they'd get to dub it too), and even if it's like...only on some kind of super-special edition. Considering this will probably be the first time I will go out of my way to order whatever the best edition of the movie from FUNi is, I'm hoping for some awesome stuff.

I don't really see why the first Broly movie gets so much hate around here, yeah Broly's not a very great villain, but it's one of the only Dbz movies that actually sort of felt like a movie as opposed to an extended episode of the anime. It was also pretty cool seeing the characters fighting together to try and defeat a single enemy.samuraix123 wrote:1 thing I hope more than anything is Funi gets the extended version.
