Hello Everyone! I just want to say sorry if I shouldn't have made this thread but I do feel like it's kinda different. But if the mods feel the need to lock it, then I guess we'll have this conversation here.

What's the chances of Funimation releasing a box set for Battle of Gods like the one I bought from Japan?
Here's a picture of it.

Maybe since it's the first movie in like forever they'll do something cool? Maaaaaaaybe throw us a bone and give us the Jump Special but that's doubtful. I'd just like them to do something special with this release.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

BD/DVD combo and a slipcover.
They might do a 'Limited Edition' but I'll just stick to the regular one.

In my ideal world they'd do a 2-disc Blu-ray set with the movie on disc 1 and the JSAT special, PTETSS, EoB plus various other extras on disc 2. Something like their special edition DVD of the first FMA movie would be perfect, with a big production book and audio commentary. I also think a limited edition with some trinket or other for the collector crowd is a definite possibility.

Ideally, they would just carry over as many of the Japanese extras as possible. But Japanese companies tend to be super-stingy with home video extras.
We'll most likely get a "standard" BD/DVD release, and maybe a special edition with tons of dub-centric extras focused on the English voices/script/translation.
I hope, hope, HOPE!! we at least get the JSAT special as an extra (I wouldn't even mind if it was subbed-only at this point, I just want to own it.)
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Seeing as the only way we got Plan to Eradicate The Super Saiyans and Episode of Bardock were through video game extras than Funimation couldn't even dub, I highly doubt well get the Yo Son Goku special.

I would want them to sub the Japanese bonus features as well. Toho allows Media Blasters to sub the Japanese DVD commentary tracks with their Sci-Fi Toku movies and those are way more niche then DBZ. I would imagine Toei will be okay with Funi subbing the Japanese bonus features.

I say go all out and do a normal Blu-Ray release. A steelbook release and a limited edition release. Include stuff like a few interviews and commentary of the English dub cast, everything from the Japanese limited edition release and maybe a Battle of God t-shirt.
If they can maybe a dub of Yo! Son Goku & His friends return, Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiya-Jins and Episode of Bardock on another disc. Wishful thinking but I'd love to see a Blu-Ray box set of all 18 Dragon Ball films like this:
Hmm... This makes me want to make a hypothetical DB film box set in Photoshop now.

I think the director's cut will likely be release after the movie comes out in theaters or they will release it later on it's own DVD & Blu-Ray release.

I'd prefer to have it packaged in a Dragon Box Movies set.

It doesn't belong to the Dragon Box collection at all, though.

I wish they would treat us with a special that us Americans physically don't have.

Honestly, I'm just hoping for a really cool looking case for the release, complete with the JSAT finally released here (and dubbed with any luck), and hopefully all of the promotional trailers that came out leading up to Battle of Gods Japanese theatrical release. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things being included so I can always watch and re-watch them at my own leisure.
As far as perks beyond that though...hmm. Well, if they could get the rights to include the soundtrack CD as a bonus, that'd be pretty awesome. A poster to put on my wall would be nice I guess. Not really sure how likely a figure of any sort is, but it'd be cool - though they'd never put in an awesome BoG-outfitted Kuririn figure since I'm about the only one that would really, really want that, bah.

Ha! Well I hope you get it buddy!

I hope we get something amazing. I'm with you on them adding the trailers and such into it. that'd be great.

Well this is DBZ I'm pretty sure FUNi will try and milk it with as many releases like they did with AoT.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a Limited Edition artbox with SSG Goku (but I'm not sure they do that for Movies) or a lenticular(sp) digipack(switching between Beerus and SSG Goku) like the target exclusive Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises digipacks.

I don't really care much for figures but if there were a Limited Edition, I'd like it to be a Steelbook Blu-ray, with DVD version inc, booklet, cards and all the extras of the R2J subtitled.

R2J = Region 2 Japan
R2E = Region 2 Japan
Then there's the other R2E types more specific.
R2F: France
R2UK: United Kingdom
R2P: Portugal
R2E: España
R2G: Germany
R2N: Netherlands
R2S: Sweden
And so on.
Normally people just refer to R2J as such and the others don't really have these acronyms used too often.
