We Gotta Power VS Chala Head Chala
Which DBZ theme song do you like more? I like We Gotta Power more. Maybe it has to do with nostalgia but I think the song is catchier than Chala Head Chala as well.

We Gotta Power is by far the most forgettable opening to Db EVER! Cha La Head Chala is much more memorable

Re: We Gotta Power VS Chala Head Chala
This is just my opinion, and I'm probably in the minority here.
Cha-La-Head-Cha-La is seriously overrated. I mean, it's a good theme song, but I prefer all the other Japanese openings over it. I can imagine it getting old after nearly 200 Episodes, too. It's great, but I would put it behind not only We Gotta Power, but also Makafushigi Adobencha, Dan Dan Kokoro Hikarete, Dragon Soul, and Kuu-Zen-Zetsu-Go.
It's memorable, and I really like these choir-like backing vocals in the chorus. But We Gotta Power just has something about it that makes me happy just listening it.
Again, I don't hate it by any means. I still rank it above the Funimation Openings, as much of a dub fan that I am.

Re: We Gotta Power VS Chala Head Chala
We Gotta Power, in my opinion, fits DBZ better. It feels empowering so to speak. Chala Head Chala is more whimsical, and maybe better suited for Dragon Ball. That's just me.

We Gotta power all the way! Chala got boring after 199 episodes, and here in Mexico they rerun the first 3 arcs LIKE HELL so WGP was a breath of fresh air.

Re: We Gotta Power VS Chala Head Chala
I've always always loved We Gotta Power. Cha-la Head-cha-la is nice on occasion, but overall I find it to be my least favorite opening theme in the series. Makafushigi Adventure!, We Gotta Power, Dan Dan Kokoro Hikarete'ku, and Dragon Soul are all better in my opinion. We Gotta Power is THE best out of them all, though. It brings back memories of the olden days when everything about Dragon Ball was a Japan-only mystery, and there was always new, shoddy information to be found.

I don't hate Cha-La Head Cha-La. But I like We Gotta Power more. This goes for the songs themselves as well as their corresponding intro animations.
As far as the songs themselves go, I like Cha-La Head Cha-La a lot, but We Gotta Power gets me more excited. It has a more exciting melody and arrangement. I also like the lyrics more.
As far as the intro animations are concerned, I think We Gotta Power is vastly superior. Not in terms of animation smoothness or anything, but in terms of the design of the intro. Whoever storyboarded it did a very good job in my opinion.

Chala Head Chala is one of the worst anime opening themes ever (imo), We Gotta Power was much better for Z. Heck, the opening animation was better too.

In all seriousness, I do get that it's your opinion, but there are many bad ones out there.

We Gotta Power wins this. It's probably the best DB opening theme.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Cha-La-Head-Cha-La wins by a mile, Not only by being more memorable, But it's opening animation is impeccable.

Re: We Gotta Power VS Chala Head Chala
I'll have to go with We Gotta Power for this one. I love the energy in We Gotta Power; it's classic Hironobu Kageyama. Both opening songs are great though.
