Eren is going to become Shinji 2.0 where nobody can handle a protagonist that isn't a bubbly cherub.

You're making it sound as if everyone has the same problems with the show that you think they do.

Fun Fact: It's not, so don't try to make it so.

Not intentionally. I was actually just joking around based on some complaints I'd seen around the internet. There's many legitimate reasons to dislike Attack on Titan.

Fun Fact: Eren being an emotional mess isn't one of them.

Ahh, then good on you sir/madam for giving me the wrong impression :P

And yeah, Eren isn't even my biggest complaint with the series. Now Mikasa on the other hand...

Don't get me wrong I like it, interesting concept. But there was so much hype around it that while watching thr first 6 episodes I was expecting something truly amazing to happen and why it's hyped as it is and honestly I felt let down. Potatoe Girl is the only character I like they rest I couldn't care less about especially Eren.
It's taken me 6 episodes to tolerate Eren wheras as I warmed up to say Goku & Bulma from the start.
Sounds to me like you prefer shallower, comedic characters to the more brooding, layered ones. Considering how dark Attack on Titan's cast is, I guess it makes sense that you wouldn't enjoy it.
That's not entirely true, I like Sam from Supernatural and he's about as brooding as they come.
Layered?

Was there any reason officially stated on why these things are being released on such an obscenely fast schedule? It looks like the seventh set is already slated for September! :o

My guess. Is put them out there before folks lose interest. Z has been released many times and there are many ways to watch them so most folks aren't going to wait around.

Are you watching it dubbed by any chance? Their script is very poor and as such many of the subtleties are entirely lost with some characters lacking the intensity they once had.

Yeah watching it dubbed. And tbh it's probably the worst dub FUNi have done in a long time. Papenbrook /: (imo Rin for BE was his best part). First couple of eps.when he was a ten year old were brutal for my ears lol
I'll finish Part 1 dubbed and if I still don't feel it, I'll give the original ago.

I would consider Batman and Angel to be more broody than Sam. For everything Sam's been through, he's more well adjusted than either.

Hopefully you aren't saying comedic characters are shallower by nature than brooding characters, or that brooding equates to more layers.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

I still don't understand why you have to be a rocket scientist to post "proper" screenshots. Most of what I see in terms of screencaps looks like what I see on TV. Am I just not zooming in and looking closely enough at each little detail? I'm pretty much convinced that, by looking at DBZ screencaps the same way I casually watch television, I'm doing something differently than everyone else.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist at all, you hit screenshot and you post it as it is. He's added black bars to the top and bottom of the video resulting in vertical squashing. There's no videophile, intense scrutiny going on.

Well, here's his image of the "Orange Brick":

and here's one I took from my actual DVD:

It's not even close.

So yeah, if he isn't taking them from crappy YouTube videos, then he's making them look far worse than they should to prop up the Blu-rays (more likely the former).

I was talking more about the "well, the compression is wrong so you have to adjust the colors in your player to blablabla..." stuff I've seen come up a lot of times in conversations regarding screencap comparisons here.

If we've moved to "no, just get a screencap and post it without altering it," then I guess I'm behind on the times.

I'd like to see those (and Metalwario64's) brick shots compared to the Blu-rays on here.

Here's a shot from qjz13 (the reviewer seemed to be using his shots, albeit poorly):

vs the Orange Brick:

It's definitely an improvement this time around, but I still don't consider it a huge upgrade personally.
