Most Hated Filler Arc/Episode
Re: Most Hated Filler Arc/Episode
Am I the only one who doesn't mind the Fake Namek filler episodes? It feels like many people really dislike it, but I never found it that bad.
I hate the Gohan high school episodes more. Or all of Garlic Jr.

Re: Most Hated Filler Arc/Episode
The Saiyan arc training filler and pre-Namek filler is all garbage. Toei really bungled that shit. And I wouldn't say I hate it(maybe I do), but there's an episode in the Buu arc where Goku and Vegeta just stare at each other in the Tenkaichi stadium.
The first TV series had some fairly uninteresting mini-filler arcs. The training arc inbetween the uranai Baba and 22nd tournaments is pure padding. The Wedding Dress arc... God, I couldn't tell you what the hell happened during that. Maybe I was just exhausted from marathoning the show when I saw it.

Fake Namek, the Garlic Jr saga and Goku falling off from Snake Trail Way are the worst fillers for me. I also found the idea of Mr. Popo can somehow send people back in time as a big plot hole. If he can do it then why does Trunks need a time machine?

Probably Fake-Moon That episode when he turns into an Oozaru for the second time. The concept didn't make any sense and almost all of the Oozaru scenes were ripped straight from Goku vs Jackie-Chun exactly. The only interesting bit of it for me was the idea of the Saiyan Ship's recording triggering some Saiyan instinct in Gohan in trying to refufil Goku's mission to destroy things.

If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Maybe he's dead? You have to remember this is the "Mr popo" who did NOTHING to stop evil king piccolo, even though he was CLEARLY strong enough to... (He beat on Goku after he had beaten piccolo...)Hellspawn28 wrote:Fake Namek, the Garlic Jr saga and Goku falling off from Snake Trail Way are the worst fillers for me. You're not alone. I enjoy some parts of Fake Namek filler episodes..Really suprises me to see how much people hate it..Daimakku wrote:Am I the only one who doesn't mind the Fake Namek filler episodes? It feels like many people really dislike it, but I never found it that bad.

I'd say Gohan's high-school filler episodes tad boring, thus my hate. Garlic Jr' filler episodes had some cool action sequences/choreography. But I can see the hate for it though...

I enjoy Fake Namek too, always good to see more adventure.
In fact I enjoy all the Namek Filler: Fake Namek, Bulma and the Crab, Ginyu Force on Kaio Planet, Dead Earthlings fighting Piccolo, Goku battling the Star, etc.

I'm a pretty big fan of filler so there isn't a lot I hate as such. I enjoy the Fake Namek arc for what it is but it is very obnoxious and really is just a huge waste of time and comes off as explicitly filler more than any other arcs. I'm not a huge fan of the Anoyoichi Budokai arc because none of the characters or fights came off as particularly memorable to me, but it's never too much of a pain to watch through.

You dont like Goku vs Paikuhan? Its one of the best fights (ranks among Goku vs Cell) with great action choreography.jda95 wrote:I'm a pretty big fan of filler so there isn't a lot I hate as such.
