Dragonballz.com's new tralier!

Post by Bardock-EX » Mon Sep 04, 2006 1:58 pm

I just sew this tralier and it was interesting. Movie 13 "uncut" dub "Wrath Of The Dragon", Hildegarn (or Hiredugarn) is called Hiredugarn in the dub.
Tapion's voice over is ok. The dub doesn't look bad, the only bad thing is Goku's Dragon Fist or what you want to call is yelled by Goku "Dragon Fire!" Check it ok for your self. 8)

Appreciate the thought, Bardock, but unfortunately I think that trailer has already been dissected and referenced numerous times on this board. (It is the same one with the mono-voice Gotenks, right?) Not everything in there was included in the final version, anyway.

Meh. At the very least, there was already a fair bit of discussion about "Dragon Fire" and how baffling/unusual/stupid that decision was . . .

EDIT: Yeah, here ya go. The original mention of the trailer and its resulting debate can be found here, and if you need more you'll also find a discussion about the actual movie (both versions) thanks to our man Tanooki.

The NUMBER ONE Goten fan, and a fucking epic one at that.

Wow, I can't navigate Funimation's website well enough to find what your talking about. But yes, it was discussed previously, as Li'l lemmy has so helpfully pointed out.

I don't understand why they'd calling Hildegarn, Hirudegarn when the name is... harder to say than if it were Hildegarn, which is a perfectly easy to say German name. In fact, the name is derived from the element hild ("battle") and something else that I don't know if it has a meaning or not. In fact, it's very close in pronunciation to "Hildegard" (or "Hildegarde", which is simply another spelling of the same name), which also contains the element garn, meaning "enclosure."

This name would suit for the large Godzilla-ish monster of Movie 13 quite nicely, as both Tapion and Minosha have to enclose the creature into their bodies, so perhaps the Japanese were aiming for this name and meaning, but for whatever reason called in Hildegarn? However, if it's a pronunciation issue, it wouldn't take much more effort to say, Hirudegaado than it would to say Hirudegaan. So my speculation is left unsound and I'm in dispare due to it.
