For some reason I really wanna hear Todd Haberkorn try out for Buu saga Gohan. I think he could do it honestly. It would arguably be a better fit since Colleen Clinkenbeard did Gohan since Cell. Hearing Colleen's Gohan to Kyle's Gohan does seem like a somewhat radical change you know?

Is there any way to watch the episodes in Korean, maybe in the channel's website or something? That way we could tell if it's the same version as in Japan or not.

In a "preview" if you can call it. Kyle made his Gohan more high pitched. Also Collen Gohan to Kyle Herbert Gohan sounds pretty natural.

I'm asking my Korean side if they can watch it. Tell me some info. I texted my Hyung.

I'm mostly wondering if the theme songs and music are the same as the Japanese version. It'll be interesting to see how the pacing is done, though.

Right. Using google, I made out the 1st 3 episodes to be the following:

99 - 7 years since! Gohan is a high school student today! (DB Chapters 422 & 423)
100 - A new hero is born! The Great Saiyaman! (DB Chapters 424 & 425 partial)
101 - Videl in crisis? Gohan's Emergency Despatch! (Dinosaur Filler/425 partial) - Saiyaman Reveal.

Obviously, I've used my interpretation a little, as google is really not very good, but I think the pacing is probably slightly behind Japan here, thus meaning we are maybe 1/2 episode behind right now.
My belief is simply that they are allowing "breathing space" between scenes (whereas the Japanese aren't allowing any, due to them having to condense episodes down because perhaps they have just 1 years worth of slots available?).

Watching the footage between the original Z & the Japanese Buu Saga of Kai is interesting - a scene where Videl jumps from a chopper onto a bus is trimmed back from 6 seconds to about 1 lol. They are cutting at every single opportunity, no chance to draw breath at all, if this is the main difference between the Japanese cut and ours, I won't mind.

Ugh...

It sounds like it's just straight up Z 200, 201 and 203... :problem:

On second thoughts, I think it should be Videl's Emergency dispatch or something, as that's what it is in the Manga. It won't have episode 203, as that is entirely filler.

So, any word on dubbed theme songs yet? Or if they're even kept? There's a certain air of uncertainty involving this. Worst case scenario: The Sumitomo score and new theme songs were only made AFTER they decided to air it in Japan. New score, maybe, but no way would they have done new theme songs for an International market.

Wish I could tell for sure from those off-screen shots whether or not the JP broadcast version's fugly green tint is gone.

Were the opening and ending the same as the quicker cut / were they dubbed into Korean?

It's good to finally know why the first few episodes sucked so badly.

Yeah, it confirms that the first few episodes were severely edited down. But what about the episodes currently airing in Japan? They're much better paced. Does that mean they're currently airing the international versions of those particular episodes, or just editing them less?

Not sure why I'm asking that, since there's no way of knowing the answer until the corresponding episodes air in Korea or elsewhere... Man, this is insane.

49 to 69 isn't too much of a big deal, we'll just be getting twenty episodes more than the Japanese edition but look on the bright side, the pacing & editing is probably better. I'd hope for the soundtrack and music placements too, though.

The only thing I could find is an off-screen video clip, but it does have one shot that isn't present in the Japanese version.

It kinda sounds like the Sumitomo score is kept... from the video above.

So that's why Goku's return scene had such an unfitting soundtrack, it probably was trimmed down and butchered and they plastered the first track they got on hand on top of the scene.

I hope in the extended cut, that scene is better.

So, should we call the Japanese version "Dragon Ball Kai Kai"?

They should have just aired this then.
Meh... Japanese TV slots are dumb as hell, like 20 episodes more would have made a difference.

Ok, just woke up right now (severely jetlagged after arriving in the US for the summer) to hear the Sumitomo score confirmed. YEEEESSSS!!!! Now, if we can just confirm the theme songs and whether they're dubbed or not, I'll be really happy!
