There's a little bit of your post in that quote. Somehow one of my posts got fusion-ha'ed with yours.
I had always wondered why they bothered "fixing" Gohan's hair in that one scene while still letting him transform into a Super Saiyan in that other scene. It's a strange kind of solution: the kind that fixes nothing.

He can turn his hair yellow all he wants, nothing wrong with that.
The only thing that contradicts the managa in respect to Gohan using SSj is a Bloodlust Gohan using ssj. Because after his potential is unlocked, Ssj shouldn't increase his PL at all.

Then i guess Gohan in GT just wanted to fight in SSJ because he "looks better as a blonde tee hee".
Works for me... after all nothing in GT uses common sense.

No gohan was stronger as a super Saiyan in GT.Flame Dragon wrote:Then i guess Gohan in GT just wanted to fight in SSJ because he "looks better as a blonde tee hee".

It's a major inconsistency. But GT isn't canon sooo.

I honestly dont know where they could go from here if the writting was as slow paced as this movie felt.AgitoZ wrote:I highly doubt it and their recent track record with the series hasn't left me with much enthusiasm for a new work. I would love to be proven wrong though.
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Looks like we now know exactly when the grand premiere is gonna be, so soon enough we should be hearing about the dub cast for sure, woot!

Do you think they'll ignore talking about Tarble all together in the dub of the movie, and just have Bulma say something stupid to Vegeta instead, or what? As I don't think most american fans will know who he is. What did they do in other countries that haven't seen or heard of him? Vegeta's brother I mean.

I don't know what other countries did, but I would imagine they'll leave it be. We have already had the character in Raging Blast 2, and the bio did a fair job of describing who he was, so they're probably fine regardless.
And with any luck, maybe, just maybe, they'll have gotten the JSAT to put on the DVD too.

Did they edit out all references to Dragon Ball in DBZ prior to DB's dub?Retan wrote:Do you think they'll ignore talking about Tarble all together in the dub of the movie, and just have Bulma say something stupid to Vegeta instead, or what? It would be incredibly stupid to not reference Tarble for that reason, especially since no doubt Funimation's going to want to dub it some day.
Also, he was dubbed in one of the video games, and Vegeta did reference him in said game.

It's a little different then editing all of dragonball, and they still screwed up most of those scenes that brought up DB, such as calling Tao the heart of the red ribbon army when really he was just a hired assasin, but whatever.Mewzard wrote:Did they edit out all references to Dragon Ball in DBZ prior to DB's dub?Retan wrote:Do you think they'll ignore talking about Tarble all together in the dub of the movie, and just have Bulma say something stupid to Vegeta instead, or what? Well, that was simply because they weren't aware of those things. The name General Tao is what they called him in Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure, where he really was a General. So, they just went with what they had. Now, they have Internet and good scripts. They have no reason to leave out the Tarble reference. Personally, I'm hoping the Special gets bundled with the DVD Release, preferably dubbed too.Retan wrote:

I don't think Tarble is even mentionned by name.
So even if they think the audience won't know about him, it can pretty much seem like a regular conversation to them, about things Vegeta would have told his wife.
If I remember well, the conversation goes like:
"Now that I think about it, you have a little brother, Vegeta!"
"Yeah, but he lives on a planet far, far away and I don't even know where it is".
It's almost as if it was some plot exposition somehow, the audience might easily believe that it's something you're supposed to learn from this dialogue, not something you're supposed to know already.

They mention him in Spanish... although I don't remember if they say his exact name.
Still, Bulma complains why Vegeta doesn't have Tarble's "phone number" or another way to contact him.

This is probably asking a lot, but it'd be neat if Funi fixed the error of Mr. Satan not knowing who Dende was. They could just change his dialogue so that it implies he simply forgot being told Dende was a God all those years ago instead of flat out not knowing him.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

If it helps anything, the extended edition shows that Mr. Satan is extremely drunk during the events of the movie. So much so that he actually passes out at one point. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that there could be a lot of things he doesn't remember during this party.jjgp1112 wrote:This is probably asking a lot, but it'd be neat if Funi fixed the error of Mr. Satan not knowing who Dende was. That is good thinking, although we can't be certain, I would also find it feasible that Mr.Satan's intoxication could lead to forgetting even important information he may have such as this. Particularly something he may not have even heard for 3 years whilst now being in a drunken state. It may have very well been an error, but this justification seems to fit well regardless.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:If it helps anything, the extended edition shows that Mr. Satan is extremely drunk during the events of the movie. That's IF we are actually getting the extended edition (Which I seriously hope we are). The theatrical cut doesn't show him being drunk at all.Careless Saiyajin wrote:Although we can't be certain, I would also find it feasible that Mr.Satan's intoxication could lead to forgetting even important information he may have such as this. I certainly hope we get the extended version as well. Regardless it probably was an error however with the extended it seems to fit alright, still understanding in mind that it likely could have simply been an error.Gonstead wrote:That's IF we are actually getting the extended edition (Which I seriously hope we are). I saw Chuck Huber at Supanova today and got my copy of Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie signed, when I mentioned how much I love Pilaf, he immediately brought up Battle of Gods (before immediately stating that he can't confirm or deny if he's recorded yet).

That's definitely a classic NDA quote. I would think he'd probably reprise his role as Pilaf in this. He's always played Pilaf from what I know (aside from DB Movie 3, which was dubbed before the DB series). Chris Cason might still do Shu, but I'm pretty sure Mai is up for grabs.SaiyamanMS wrote:I saw Chuck Huber at Supanova today and got my copy of Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie signed, when I mentioned how much I love Pilaf, he immediately brought up Battle of Gods (before immediately stating that he can't confirm or deny if he's recorded yet).
We know from a certain FAQ that people at Funimation are well aware that there are two versions, and they would probably try to license the longer one, or maybe they have both. Have any other countries gotten this movie yet? I heard Latin America has a version, but I have no idea whether they're planning to do the extended or not. Maybe that's why Funimation took longer, I hope?Careless Saiyajin wrote:
