What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I got that same exact Goku figure for 4 bucks at my anime/manga hobby shop. Sadly I couldn't get the Vegeta one with it.

I want to purchase some Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z figurines.. but it's hard to know what is a legit figurine, and what could be a bootleg/knock-off.. some (well, most) of the ones I have found online look terrible and nothing like the characters..

What are the companies that bring out the best ones (most accurate appearance) and where can I buy them online?

I tend to stick with Banpresto products from Japanese sellers on eBay.I'm relatively new to collecting figures so I'm sure there are other resources as well, I jut haven't found them.

The sad thing about these 24 hour shirt sites is that they're usually really limited with colours, whereby usually you don't have a choice, and if you do - it's two or three at most.

Incidentally, the same designer had a run of these not too long ago:

DBZ Blu-Ray season 4 but it hasn't arrived yet, despite it being 3 weeks, and it was supposed to be a 2 night delivery; I think VeggetoEX might of stolen it for himself...

I'm still not sure if I want one of those figures or not. I think there needs to be a Kuririn to push me over the edge. :P

Might as well add my most recent purchase to the thread. I bought all volumes of dragonball z digitally through viz manga's official website which I now enjoy reading on my iphone through the viz manga app and Battle of Z for Xbox 360.

I'm willing to bet that once the BluRay hype train has gone, the Buu arc of Kai has been released and the Orange Bricks have been phased out, Funi will revisit the Level Sets.

The problem, in my opinion, is that it wasn't that they were unprofitable - they just as weren't profitable as Funimation had hoped an initial BluRay release of Z would be. Funimation want their Z BluRays to make a big splash and capture the same everyday fan demographic that bought the Orange Bricks - and they felt the Level Sets weren't hitting their target market.

I'm almost certain that once they've ran out of new shit to release, they'll do an equivalent uncropped BluRay of Z aimed entirely at the uber-fan demographic. Mark my words - I can almost imagine the advertisement slogan now 'See Dragonball Z as it was meant to be seen!"

The problem was the Level sets were shortly released right after another profitable release of the anime. If they waited and released the Level sets now, perhaps they would be doing better and we'd have had more of the release.

My Majin Boo arrived today, and it'll be staying inside its box as that's how I like it. As a kid I used to enjoy taking figures out of their boxes but not any more (except for my Nintendo characters as they just came in a sack).
The only reason I bought Boo was because it was one of the characters I really wanted to own, aside from Kid Son and that's it, I'm not really a fan of figures to be honest.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I used to have that exact Majin Buu figure. It always was one of my favorites.

Awesome, that was fast, especially to a Rural address. Enjoy the subbed DBOX Bonus discs too. :)
