Question about a filler character

Question about a filler character

A few episodes before the Cell Games, there's a filler episode where Gohan saves some girl and her village from a corrupt businessman trying to build them a shelter. At the end of the episode, Goku recognizes the girl's grandfather and I'm pretty sure in the dub he calls him "Lao". Is this supposed to be a character from an episode of Dragon Ball? Because I don't remember him at all.

Er...I think he was referring to Tao Pai Pai, the professional killer that the Red Ribbon had once hired to eliminate Goku.
As far as the child's grandfather is concerned, I don’t think Goku had ever met him.
And isn't 'Lao' the dub name for Tao Pai Pai?
I think I remeber that from one of the GBA games...

I think Goku just knows him in the dub.I just watched that episode in japanese like a week ago,and I don't recall Goku saying anything like he knew him.

Er, well, Lime's grandfather looks a lot like Jackie Chun...and I remember Lime saying that he won the Tenkaichi Budokai years ago. Maybe he was the real Jackie Chun and Muten-Roshi just copied him? O_O;;

Uh no, the dub name in DBZ is General Tao and in DB its Mercenary Tao
