I have the first the first three shots from the Orange Bricks. I couldn't find that shot of 18 at all though.
I can actually see some details in the line art that are blurred on the Blu-ray. It has to be their remastering.
I've also noticed that the Blu-rays have a green tint now, much like the Japanese Boo-arc in Kai.

Could you upload the Orange brick equivalent of this?
It's from when Vegeta is about to charge up the Final Flash.
Also if anyone has the Dragon box equivalent feel free to post it.

It looks much better on the Blu-ray, but I don't like the green tint.

I am legitimately baffled how anyone can think these season sets look good.

Honestly they don't look that bad. The colours are just too bright funimation needs to fix that.

Here's an amateur attempt at removing the tint.

Here's a more "professional" result by using GIMP's curves tool:
I also darkened the lighter skin shade with curves because FUNI's over contrasting made it too close to white.
For the hell of it, here it is with the grain removed. GIMP has a very great tool for noise reduction called "selective Gaussian Blur":
Of course, I'd never want the show to actually look like this...
Here's the Kai version of the shot for comparison:
And here's another comparison:
Z Blu-ray:

Orange Brick:

This remaster of FUNimation seems to be mostly automated so whatever the result is, it's based on luck how good or bad it looks.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

It's not that automated. On the Orange Bricks, there's constant dirt and dust marks and whatnot popping up all over the place. Also, the cropping is a lot worse. The people putting this together are at least watching what they're making (on their computers as well as on a consumer market monitor) to make sure it turns out looking good.
It's less a matter of automation and more of a matter of them being satisfied with the results. Most fans seem to agree. That's not saying much as most fans liked the Orange Bricks and hated the Levels, but it's not like FUNi's doing this on autopilot and just thinking it'll sell itself.

I've got a question about these Blu-Rays. I'm not getting them, (I don't have Blu-Ray, and I already have the Bricks), but my friend is getting them.
I'm wondering if they fixed the mistake with Maron in the Androids Saga. She was redubbed by Leah Clark in the Garlic Jr. Saga, but for some reason Daphne Gere's voice was left in intact in the Androids Saga......with the JP score on. US music presents no problem and we get Clark's voice there, too. Has this been fixed at all?

A while ago I watched "Season 7" which aside from a few missing lines and cropping the picture quality was actually pretty nice, the cropping only got on my nerves in 2-3 instances which were Trunks head chopped off, Goten same and likewise for Kaioshin.
Between the Later Orange Bricks and Season BDs, I'd take the OBs but I just can't stand the packaging and that they're cropped.

I'd go for the blurays they're cheaper (if they are in the UK) and the earlier sets dont have the missing lines during shaking scenes and some better cropping

The UK Orange Bricks are cheaper than the Season Blu-rays but if he wants to get a better version out of the two, then the Season BDs are the pick. I'd wait if I were him or just try to get the Level BDs to see what Z could look without any cropping or cleaning done to it, basically raw.

It depends, do you prefer vanishing lines (for the first few Orange Bricks) and a center crop, or messy grain remnants and awkward panning (Blu-rays)? They both look pretty bad in their own ways.
Visually, the latest Blu-rays look better than their corresponding Orange Bricks, but that may change when we get to Season 6-9, which on the Orange Bricks had a good amount of grain and overall looked good outside of the cropping. Since the grain was left intact for those episodes, partly due to FUNi getting a new video guy and realizing their DVNR method was destroying line detail, I doubt we'll see a huge increase in grain on the Blu-rays since such defects were never there to begin with, so those Orange Bricks will probably be better than the corresponding Blu-rays in the end.
Overall the Blu-rays are probably better outside of worse colors in Seasons 1 and 3. Though the panning is also atrocious.

Buy the Kai Blu rays unless you really want to own the original DBZ in which case I would go with the Season Blu rays over the orange bricks.
