Dragon Ball Z 2007 Calandars

Post by Son Gohan » Thu Sep 07, 2006 11:40 am

Yep, that's right!
Japanese online retailers are now taking pre-orders for this years 2007 Dragonball Z calandars! Even though the series ended some time ago, there's nothing stopping TOEI from making a great looking calandar (or even 8 of them, lol). All 8 will release later this month on the 21st, and sell from anywhere between $10-20 USD each.

Anyone planning to order, I'm pretty sure i will! :D

I like those covers, and I'm considering getting the art work with bonus calender...one can never have too many pictures of early DragonBall Bulma in a bathing suit. I just wish we could see some thumbnails of what's actually inside those calenders. You're not buying it for the cover after all. :?

Give it a month, they probably got those images from Toei, so they don't actually have the calendars yet. I'd expect to see another image or two when the things have actually been released. At least, that was the case last year.

That cover is pretty bad ass. And the price isn't bad either.

Whats up with the Trunks loving latley? First he's on the cover of (insert crazy American name for Sparking Neo 2) and now he has his own calander? To bad he looks hidious on both.

Edit: Ok, I thought there were only those two calanders that were pictured in the top of this topic. Thats kinda awsome that some characters have there own calander. With all this new art Iam hoping for a new Dragonball art book with all these new images from the DVD covers to these calanders. Maybe that can be Daizenshuu 11! I wish.

So, is it official (atleast in Toei's eyes) that Vegita's hair is brown now? I like black better for some reason...

As for purchasing the calender, I probably won't unless there's some really good art inside them (I'll hear it from this forum soon enough), and the price goes down. IMO, the price is a little to high right now, considering I'm trying to buy some Daizenshuu's and R2 DVDs right now.

Eh, I'll probably buy one after seeing what pictures are on the inside. My guess is that Toei is taking its idea from the magazine companies that have those issues that have multiple covers, but the same inner content, at least with those "mug shot" calendars.

Other thoughts on the "mug shot" calendars: I liked how Piccolo is given the demon symbol on his cover, but was disappointed that the King Vegeta symbol wasn't on the Vegeta calendar (though it makes sense, since the symbol was from fanart). Of course, the Goku one rocks the hardest and... the Roshi one... now I know why he wasn't made a dominant character in the latter part of the series-- I just can't imagine him with a serious face! That and the idea of Roshi being grouped in there just seems a bit odd. I would've gone with a chibi Goten and Trunks cover, but whatev...

EDIT: And yeah, everyone's totally digging the Bulma calendar.

This will probably sound dumb to some, but I thought they quit making DragonBall Z calendar's back in 2004. At least, that is the last one I ever got because no store in my town ever got anymore for the years 2005/2006. I'm quite tempted to get one of these calendar's, but then my collection will look pretty weird. Seeing as I have the calendar's 1999-2004 and then to pick back up in 2007? I don't really know, what I'll do. Probably will wait until I find out exactly what is inside these.

This may sound stupid, but is that really a cover?
There are numbers on the bottom.... :?

EDIT: They are using these pictures on another site as inside material:

Plus, I found the biggest picture to drool all over here:

So Bulma can't be the cover.

Holy crap....if that is how the artwork is going to look like inside the calenders (referring to the recently posted image with Goku, Vegita, Nappa etc.), I am soooo buying this crap.

Which is just strange, since it clearly isn't a winter scene :?:. And just to clarify this, if the stuff that SS Kakarot put up here pages from the calendar, then does that mean that it isn't put together like other calendars, with the picture on one page, and the grid for the month on the other? If so, then that's pretty strange, considering how much space isn't given to the actual erm... content. It is a calendar after all...
