I haven't got my copy yet but I'm assuming they're not including it. The final Jinzoningen/Cell Volume advertised Trunks the Story as being in Tankobon 33 and Kanzenban 34, and I think if they were going to include it in this release they'd advertise it as such.

If by the end of the year we already had the first volume or two of the Freeza arc, Viz would have had to announce them way before then. The Saiyan arc was announced a full seven months in advance.

That would be a shame. I asked precisely because the Kanzenban put it in the last volume. I hope they are following the same trend and include it....

Anyways I was going to buy the Kanzenban as well, so not that big of a problem anyway.

I asked Viz again whether or not there have been any updates as to if they acquired anything past the Saiyan arc, waiting to hear back.

I've gotta say, this year's Anime Expo was a total letdown. Was really expecting Viz to have some news regarding the Full Color Comics like last year.

According to the recently updated manga guide for the Full Color release, it is indeed true.

What a shame, I was really hoping that this release would be a colored kanzenban, turns out we're going to be one chapter short (not including the pre-"Z" chapters).

Someone asked them and they said they would but didn't give a date

If they were to announce the continuation of the Full Colour series they would post it on their Facebook wall and all the popular anime/game/media websites to attract more audience and sales, not to a single customer (well, tons of users have asked them even I).

Not to mention it would be up in the Kanzenshuu news section in no time.

I dont understand why they are taking this long to announce the next saga.
Battle of Gods is coming to USA next month. They should use the hype power.

Anyone knows if the sales are being bad?! If it was a crappy anime remaster I'm pretty sure the asnwer would be no. But I dont have idea how many fans care about the manga.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

That may be it. Barnes&Noble has volume 1's sales rank at 247, 683. Dont know about you but that doesent sound like they are doing well.

Yea, I actually just asked today, told me they have no plans for more volumes right now.

Someone else on here asked them the same thing and they said they would get the rest of the volumes plus the one piece ones

I believe VIZ said that they were evaluating them, not that they were getting them. I really hope they do; they are beautiful.

I've been buying them as ebooks (I can't bring myself to justify the purchase of a third copy of the manga in print; and also I've recently gotten hooked on reading Viz manga on my phone; I wish they'd release ebooks for Ranma½ because I would so buy them) and they're really neat. Full Color has a little bit more jpeg artifacts than I'd like, but it's only noticeable when I zoom in real close. What's especially fun about the saiyan arc in full color is all the different times of day and how the colors reflect the lighting in the afternoon vs evening and the way the palette used changes at night.
On hiatus.

That's Viz's stock answer for whenever someone asks them about the Full Color Comics. And it's actually pretty insightful, if you look carefully.

Whenever fans suggest new series for Viz to publish or just ask them to continue cancelled series, Viz nearly always says that they have no plans to publish the suggested series and finishes by saying one out of these:

1 - "We apologize for the inconvenience"
2 - "Thank you for your suggestion, we will take it into consideration"
3 - "We hope you will consider the other great series we plan to announce"
4 - "We plan on keeping all previously printed volumes in stock".

But whenever someone asks them if they plan on continuing Dragon Ball Full Color, they give out a different answer:

"For the time being we only have plans to release the Saiyan arc. If that changes we will let you all know/make an announcement.".

This indicates that they most likely do have plans to announce them sometime down the road, they're probably just not done preparing or are just waiting for some specific occasion.

One thing is for certain, I am not caving in and buying the Japanese volumes anytime soon. Last July I got impatient and ordered all 8 available volumes from CD Japan only for Viz to announce the print edition about 5 days later. Not to mention I still have about 2 years' worth of manga/comics backlog, so... not like I'm getting bored anytime soon. If Viz says nothing else by 2016, then I'll get 'em.

I won't buy the japanese versions, that's for sure. I don't see point of owning something I don't understand.
And I'm not even talking about the literally bigger quality that Viz offered.

Yeah, the Japanese edition isn't going to be viable for most. Though there are quite a few people that buy them exclusively for the artwork.

Having so many things I like exclusively in Japanese is the reason I started having Japanese lessons. Grew tired of being left out (not to mention I love foreign languages).

Still, that shit is hard. 3 1/2 years and 580 kanji later, I can still only understand about 50% of any given manga. But I should grow more independent after another year or two.

But yeah, Viz's edition's larger size is undeniably better. It enhances the original artwork even more. Not to mention it's the first time we've had a collected edition with Jump's original size. Sure hope they do print the rest of the volumes (don't know why they decided to go by stages anyway - they don't do that with any of their other series). But if for some reason they don't, I'll be getting the Japanese edition. Hopefully I'll be more proficient by then. And it'll be good practice.

This is one of the reasons that I bought them, as well as how much faster the Japanese versions were released. Not to mention, I've read the manga so many times I pretty much have it memorized at this point so it being in Japanese really isn't a hinderance.

For the time being the best we can hope for is that during Sept/Oct they'll make an announcement of it because I for one will only purchase the Full Colours in English and no other language, so if I end up with an incomplete collection then let it be though at least the Full Colours look pretty damn gorgeous for the artwork too.
