I'm sorry for not knowing this but will Funimation leave the Japanese insert song playing while Goku and Beerus fight? I loved that moment.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Yes and no. The insert song has been changed.....but to an English version of the same song, still sung by the same people. Same deal with "Chala Head Chala."samuraix123 wrote:I'm sorry for not knowing this but will Funimation leave the Japanese insert song playing while Goku and Beerus fight? I loved that moment.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Well I hope it sounds good. I know It wouldn't have made much sense for them to leave it Japanese when the rest of movie is in English. but here's hoping it'll be just as good!

Has there been any clips of the new song?

The English version of "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" was already present on the band's CD single (and you can listen to a sample on its Amazon Japan page), while their English version of "HERO ~Song of Hope" is in both the Cantonese and Mexican dub tracks on their respective home releases (though I don't have anything handy of that right now).

This is the English version of Hero. Someone ripped it and uploaded it to YouTube. I hope it gets a full release at some point.

"@ccarrollbeard: Working on the special features for #BattleofGods. They're gonna be rad, you guys. #DBZ"

So looks like the home release will have some extras on it.

Please God let it be the Jump Special.....doubt it. I own 2 versions of it on DVD and it was included in my box set but I'd like to see them dub or even just sub and release it.

Ooh, sweet! I figured as much, but what I'm really curious about is what kind of stuff they might put on a Limited Edition, assuming they do one. I don't normally spring for those, but this is something that I just might, if the exclusive stuff is cool enough.

It might be the extra scenes from the extended edition and maybe a documentary. I too would like to see a dubbed version of Yo! Son Goku & His Friends Return.

It'd be cool to see some sort of commentary. I heard Dead Zone had one with Chuck Huber and Chris Cason, and that it was quite amusing.

I loved rewatching Dead Zone with commentary, it made the whole movie very entertaining and refreshing. I watched this through buying the steel movie books.Valerius Dover wrote:It'd be cool to see some sort of commentary. Anyways i would love to see something like that occur in a home release for Battle of Gods, that would be fantastic.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first confirmation we've gotten of a domestic home video release of the film? All of the announcements so far have been "theatrical, theatrical, theatrical!" Sure, we always assumed it was happening, but I was starting to wonder.
If Clinkenbeard's working on it, then I'm guessing it's either the extended edition or a making-of featurette. It's something she's excited for, and unless she's been cast as Grae, there would be no reason for her to be excited about the Jump Special.
Can I be the odd man out and say that I absolutely loathed the Chuck Huber / Chris Cason commentary for Z movie 01?

You'd actually be part of the majority there, at least around here, from what I remember when the commentary has come up in the past.MagicBox wrote:Can I be the odd man out and say that I absolutely loathed the Chuck Huber / Chris Cason commentary for Z movie 01?
Myself, I kinda like it, but I can totally see why others wouldn't. It really is a poor commentary in regards to...well...actually commentating on the film or what went into it. For something like that, they should have had Sabat and Schemmel or something. Huber could have been along for the ride, but having just him and Cason was just a formula for insanity. Insanity that I however, as a huge voice-over fan and loves hearing actors goof around, found hilarious. But again, I can easily see how that wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.
If we get a commentary for this movie though, I have a hunch it'd be a pretty good one. Sabat would be at the helm, and we all know how much he loves the franchise. If he could then get in Sean, Sonny, and Mike, that'd be a great little gathering of people that have been there practically since day 1 of the in-house move. Maybe get Jason Douglas and Ian Sinclair too, as the new major characters to the franchise.

Nah, I don't mind it if things get silly for a little bit. To be honest, I encourage it. I want these guys to feel comfortable speaking.
[grumpy entitled fan mode]
But... talk about something. Anything. You've got a chance to talk about what you do for a living and instead you're sitting in this booth doing impressions of Christopher Walken singing Christmas songs. Or telling funny stories about your families. For 50 minutes. And in the proper context, that stuff's funny. But I came here to learn. I think the only genuine behind-the-scenes insight I gained from their 50-minute discussion was that Chris Cason voiced Tenshinhan before Burgmeier did. I understand that they're probably not Dragon Ball experts. In fact, I remember one especially weird comment from Huber about Goku (paraphrased): "I love how he's always so scared and yet he always wins!" Bwah?
But they don't need to be Dragon Ball experts. They dub anime for a living. Talk about that. I still have fond memories of that fantastic Yu Yu Hakusho commentary that featured Justin Cook and the show's audio engineer. I learned so, so much.
[/grumpy entitled fan mode]
Despite what I just said, I hope we do get to see some interviews with the cast and crew for the "Battle Of Gods" release. A Q&A with Huber or Cason would be especially helpful, since I suspect a lot of casual DBZ fans have no idea who Pilaf is.

I sure hope the Jump Special makes it over here somehow. I heard some people were confused with the Tarble reference in Movie 14. From what I hear, Funimation didn't really change anything regarding those lines. This is going to make people want the Special even more.

Looks like Kami to Kami is no longer the only film with close supervision from Toriyama, the new film is confirmed for 2015.
